When dealing with welded wire fence, thicker wire tends to be stronger. I was surprised with the good quality of this roll of fencing, 3 ft x 50 ft, 16 gauge. Lately, I’ve gotten quite a few rolls of welded wire that overstate the actual wire gauge. GILPWA has actually understated the wire. I stripped the PVC off before measuring. It measures almost 15 gauge, which is even thicker/heavier than 16 gauge. Some companies even use the PVC coating as part of their measurement. Not so for this one. It’s the real deal! The 2 x 2 grid suits us well for our chicken yard fencing and goose control. I am quite happy with the results and highly recommend this item.

I use this fencing to protect my blueberry shrubs from rabbits. I also use it to create cylindrical trellises for my pepper plants. I like this type of fencing because the extra coating prevents cuts on my hands and broken fruits on my plants. I allow my cats to walk through my garden for a few minutes each day and I feel better using the coated fencing just in case they rub against it or get startled. When using it for trellising, I use plastic zip ties to secure and plunge a vertical pole to keep it in place.

This wire fencing is as strong, and durable as I had hope it would be. We used it to fence off my garden from my dogs who love to pick up plants and run around with them, pulling them from pots and tearing them apart. This fence has kept them out, even with the younger ones wrestling and rolling into it, and my garden has been safe ever since. Even better, it looks really nice, much nicer than the thinner chicken wire they sell at local stores. I strongly recommend it and will be buying more soon as I expand my garden.
