Description

The Winters PEM series pressure gauge with brass wetted parts has a circular dial enclosed in a steel case and a male connection, and measures pressure with a dual scale (psi/kPa)/(Hg. vacuum/kPa) with an accuracy of + or - 3/2/3%. The brass wetted parts are for measuring non-corrosive liquid and gas pressure. The black-painted steel case is Ingress Protection certified IP52 for protection against dust or liquids. The circular dial comes in 1.5" (40 mm), 2" (50 mm), 2.5" (63 mm), and 4" (100 mm) diameters. The dial has an aluminum black pointer. The lens for the 1.5", 2", and 2.5"diameter dials is polycarbonate for high impact resistance. The lens for the 4" diameter dial is glass for strength and clarity. The gauge measures pressure with a dual scale of either psi/kPa or Hg. vacuum/kPa. The gauge is accurate to + or - 3/2/3% over the entire range of the gauge, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B40.100 Grade B accuracy class. The male connection is mounted on the bottom or center back of the gauge and has either a 1/4" NPT (National Pipe Thread) or 1/2" NPT rate. The bourdon tube is phosphor bronze, the movement is brass, and the welding is silver alloy. The over-pressure limit is 25% of full scale value. The working pressure is a maximum of 75% of full scale value. The operating temperature is -40 to 150 degrees F (-40 to 65 degrees C). This pressure gauge is suitable for plumbing, heating, air conditioning, pneumatic, hydraulic, water tanks, and air compressors.Pressure gauges are instruments used to measure the pressure of a gas or liquid inside a vessel and, often, to help ensure the optimal amount of pressure for a given application. Pressure gauges can range from everyday instruments, such as those used to measure the air pressure in a car or bicycle tire, to highly accurate gauges used in mechanical and industrial processing. Most often, pressure gauges measure pressure relative to another reference. For instance, gauge pressure measures pressure relative to ambient air. An example of a pressure gauge measuring relative to ambient air is a tire pressure gauge or a blood pressure gauge. Differential pressure is the difference in pressure between two points, such as when measuring liquid flow along various points in a pipeline. An absolute pressure gauge measures pressure relative to a perfect vacuum, such as an atmospheric or barometric pressure gauge. All types of pressure gauges include either a male or a female mount to connect to the vessel where pressure is being measured, and display results on a dial with varying increments of measure across a given range.Winters Instruments manufactures pressure gauges, thermometers, diaphragm seals, pressure transmitters, and switches. The company, founded in 1953, is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.

  • I think?
Style: 0/60 PSI/KPA
I think it is mostly accurate? Little delicate. I dropped it on my foot and now it's reading 5 psi when it's not plugged into anything.

  • Large and easy to read.
Style: 0/160 PSI/KPA
The gauge was a replacement for a gauge that is half the Winter's size with a unrealistic range. To that end I purchased the Winter 2 and half inch gauge with a range realistic to what need it for.

Does a great job - just make sure the pressure is not higher than the gauge readout or you will ruin it instantly.

  • First One Defective...Replacement Is Perfect
Style: 0/100 PSI/KPA
When my first one arrived, it was showing 7 PSI out of the box. I did not even connect it. I contacted Amazon for a replacement. This is being used in an assembly that allows me to air up/down two tires at a time. We do off-roading and the ability to air up/down two tires at a time is a good thing. It also allows me to balance the pressure between the two tires. I also have the ability to check the line pressure with a regular tire gauge (just a back up). I have one electronic and two manual tire gauges that I use. All three of these read exactly the same at 40-65 PSI. The replacement gauge arrived two days later. It was at 0 PSI out of the box. I installed it and started checking...thinking a gauge at this price point would be way off. Actually what I found after testing it with my three tire gauges was impressive. At 40 PSI and below it reads about 1 PSI low. At 50-65 it reads exact to about 1/2 PSI high. I have used high-end, expensive, oil filled gauges that were no where this accurate. Bottom line...I am very pleased with the replacement and glad that I decided to stay with the same brand/seller, etc. Thanks! ... show more

  • It's good value for the money
Style: 0/100 PSI/KPA
I purchased three gauges to install on a water filtration system. After about a month, one failed. The failure was related to the needle "sticking" rather than a smooth movement during operation. I emailed the company directly, who informed me to go through Amazon for returns/rrplacement/warranty. I don't know what that says about the company, but I guess they don't want to deal with customers directly. Either way it's easy to install, the accuracy is about +/- 5% from what I can measure. The two working ones are smooth and easy to read. One part that I'm not too happy with is the two screws in the back are not stainless steel nor are they protected. So one of them somehow had water splashed in the and the screws are show rust after a month of usage. Didn't expect water tight Gauge, but also didn't expext rust from Gauge that is designed to measure water pressure as well. ... show more

  • Read this before you buy this gauge!
Style: 0/100 PSI/KPA
Read this before you buy this gauge. Just a few things I noticed after buying and installing 5 of these gauges. On a side note: I purchased 2 gauges from home depot and the both stopped working, stuck needle and bent needle after a few weeks and one rusted and sprung a leak. Likes: -much better quality then the cheap similar priced ones at lowes or home depot. -quality brass internal parts -screws instead of rivets holding the face on -Accurate: out of 5 gauges only 1 reads 1PSI higher then the rest. However they read 5 PSI different then the CHEAPO gauges from Depot and Lowes. dislikes: -the face is hard to read and only calls out every 20 PSI which is not ideal. Mine are installed on a house water system that reach 60psi max so its hard to tell from a quick glance if your at 50psi or not. -KPA is just distracting and not necessary on a small gauge like this in my opinion. ... show more

  • Good Price and Accurate For My Use.
Style: 0/100 PSI/KPA
Installed these gauges on both of my filters. A gauge gives you a better idea of filter condition as opposed to filter appearance. Easy to add the gauge. I just drill a 7/16" hole in the output side of the housing and thread it with a 1/4" pipe tap. Put a few wraps of Teflon tape on the gauge threads and thread it in. ... show more
