  • Best Sleeves on the Market. Period.
I've spent hours upon hours reading/watching reviews for almost every type of card sleeve imaginable--everything from Ultra Pro to Dragon Shield, Legion to Max Protection, Ultimate Guard to BCW, and even custom sleeve makers like Inked (plus the countless iterations of each brand). I also bought and tested all of the top-rated sleeves. All my research pointed me to KMC Hyper Mattes. And after testing them out, I am a true believer. These are the perfect sleeves. I know these are generally more expensive than most card sleeves, but if you really care about your cards and want genuine quality, then this is the end-all, be-all. Personally I sleeved up my Magic: the Gathering legacy cube with these exact sleeves (with KMC Perfect Fit sleeves inside). For those of you who don't know what that means, it's basically a collection of my best/favorite/most valuable Magic cards that I own. Some of them are worth literally hundreds of dollars! I know, I'm insane for spending that much money on pieces of cardstock, but that's how it goes for a lot of us players/collectors, and these are the only sleeves I trust to protect my collection. THE SLEEVES: The front is glossy, so it's crystal clear. You'll be able to see your card's artwork and read the text perfectly. Not to mention that your foils really pop (especially if you have a dark-colored sleeve). The backs of the sleeves have a textured matte finish, which does a couple things. First, the combination of glossy front and matte back mean that your cards are very pleasing to handle together, whether you're drawing cards off your deck or moving them around in your hand. Second, the matte finish also makes it much harder for dirt and grime to build up on the surface which is what makes sleeves start to get "sticky" and clump up. Furthermore, every sleeve is exactly the same size. I used to be an Ultra Pro guy (because those suckers are nice and cheap and I play a lot of EDH) and I'd always get packs that were slightly off in the cutting, which led to jagged-feeling decks...not ideal. You'll never get that with these KMCs. THIS SELLER: I mentioned above that KMC Hyper Mattes are often more expensive than Ultra Pros or even some Dragon Sleeves, but this deal (5 or $25) is outrageously good. My local game store sells each pack of 80 sleeves for about 2.5 times the price of what you're paying here. This is the best deal I've ever seen for these things! BONUS: If you're going the extra mile to find the perfect sleeves for your cards, then you probably like to double-sleeve (if you don't already, then you really should). Good news, the KMC Hyper Mattes work flawlessly with KMC Perfect Fit sleeves, which happen to be the best "perfect size" inner sleeves on the market. As I said above, I use the Perfect Fits + Black Hyper Mattes for my cube and I have complete and total peace of mind while we're drafting and playing games with them. (For the record, I'm not a spokesperson for KMC or anything, lol, they just make damn good products.) ... show more

  • Superior quality
Pair them with KMC Perfect Hard inner sleeves for the ideal double sleeve deck!

  • Some of the best sleeves out there
I have bought a ton of sleeves in the 20+ years I've played Magic the Gathering. These have been some of the better sleeves in the recent past. I got tired of dragon shields being hard to use as I double sleeve and the edges of the perfect fits catch on the inner edges. These have had no problems with being to tight or the edges catching. Also, they seem to shuffle well for long tournament use (I played 17 rounds of side events at GP Los Angeles last year and they held up really well). ... show more

  • best bet
kmc is still the best when it comes to sleeving mtg card. with that said though i have run into some quality consistency issues in the past with kmc sleeves. recently i haven't had this problem. but i would consider this concern when purchasing them. sometimes the cut of them is off, sometimes they show scratches a lot more then others, sometimes you will have more split in a pack then others. overall the issues are really uncommon though and i wouldnt suggest another brand over these. ... show more

  • The best sleeves for binder pages
I purchased these sleeves looking for something that I could sleeve my Pokemon cards in and then put into my ultra pro binder pages. These sleeves do an outstanding job at it. My cards fit very snug, but not too tight. Even two sleeved cards back to back fit very well in one page slot. The quality and uniformity in these sleeves is remarkable, and I will definitely purchase these again once I run out!! ... show more

  • A Fantastic Product, Especially if You Plan on Double-Sleeving!
I bought a few sets of these sleeves for my Magic Commander Cube. This five-pack at around $25 is probably the best deal around on these. KMC Hyper Mattes are considered the best overall card sleeve by Tolarian Community College (a Youtube channel that is renowned for in-depth product tests and fair, unbiased criticism). Typically these are considered the standard in card sleeves. They have a fantastic shuffle feel, allowing to easily shuffle your cards without cards sticking or sliding too much. Another aspect that makes these sleeves so great is the fact that they are far and away the best sleeves for double-sleeving. If you are planning on doing so, grab these as well as KMC Perfect Fits KMC 100 Card Barrier PERFECT SIZE (10 packs/Total 1000) to double-sleeve your cards. They are specifically manufactured to work with each other. I have found no other sleeve that Perfect Fits slide well into other than the KMC brand outer sleeves. This makes sense, but it is worth noting. Why four stars? This is a minor quibble, but I have noticed these sleeves have split more commonly than I am used to with the KMC brand. To be fair, I double-sleeved about 1400 cards for my cube and only had about 4-5 splits, but that was during the first usage. This is still a VERY LOW failure rate. I would rate KMCs as less durable than Dragon Shields, but still probably above anything else I have tested. Still, the durability difference between these and Dragon Shields is pretty noticeable. ... show more

  • A quality sleeve at a great price. The new formula makes these even better than they used to be.
I received the "new" formula KMC Hyper Matte sleeves with my order. Although I've never had a problem with the old sleeves, these are supposed to be even better. You can tell the updated product by the gold lettering on the package (see picture). I haven't had much playtime with them yet, but they double sleeve easier than the old style and shuffles are more smooth. I used to be an Ultra Pro guy, but the value and quality of these KMC sleeves has changed my mind. ... show more

Bought them for my cube. Well worth the price. I read reviews that people are saying the quality has went down but i dont see a difference. Will be ordering a lot more for back up.
