This is a great substitute for the Alex Nine from IKEA and was significantly cheaper when I purchased it. The instructions were a tad hard to find (they ended up being really folded deep in a box with some nails - I searched for a bit before realizing it). My pieces arrived exactly on time, with zero damaged or missing pieces. Instructions were definitely a bit hard to follow (especially which orientation some of the screws needed to be placed in - they’re incredibly tiny in the diagram and you can’t make out which side is which) but I was eventually able to figure it out. It took 4 hours (straight through) to build which isn’t terrible. The drawers slide easily and fit easily into their spots. The depth and size of the drawers make it perfect for storage of makeup or other items (paper, arts and crafts items, etc). The overall appearance is very nice and I am extremely pleased with how this came out. It is a tiny bit wobbly (not significantly so, but what you’d expect from a piece of self constructed furniture). Overall I would recommend this item to someone looking for a nice, relatively cheap, item for storage, which is why I gave this 5 stars - this was exactly what I wanted and perfect for me. Would not recommend to someone looking for a 100% perfect item, an expensive looking item, or something that comes to you premade. You get what you pay for (but this beat out all of my expectations tbqh). Item arrived in good condition, with all the necessary parts. I dedicated an afternoon to putting it together. I did it by myself. Living along I have learned how to do many things myself so have some experience. I would say it was easy to assemble given all the parts. This item is heavy and the pieces were not light, but the drawers came together well and fit well. They continue to function well. As a unit it is very sturdy. I use it for craft supplies. The drawers open easily and smoothly. But they don't open "all the way." And they are shallow, which works for me. I would advise checking the dimensions. The finish is as good as new after over two years of use. I have it in my home office and have used it as a printer stand. I purchased the Winsome Halifax 7-Drawer Cabinet to organize my home office supplies, and it’s been a helpful addition. The seven drawers offer ample space for items like stationery, cables, and documents, keeping everything neatly tucked away. The cabinet’s compact design fits well in my workspace without taking up too much room. The included casters make it easy to move around, which is convenient when I need to rearrange my setup. Assembly was a bit time-consuming. The instructions are primarily visual, and it took me a couple of hours to put it together. Some of the pre-drilled holes didn’t align perfectly, so I had to make slight adjustments. Once assembled, the cabinet feels sturdy and functions as expected. I am completely in love with my Winsome Halifax Organizers. I bought two to build a makeup vanity table of my own just like the ones you see some of the YouTube beauty gurus have in their beauty rooms. This isn’t a building project for any beginner. That’s why I am reading in some of the bad reviews that this brand isn’t a good choice. THIS IS FALSE. You just need to have some knowledge of basic building. I’m a female but took woodshop in HS and it helped tremendously in the contruction of my organizers. As others have stated, the Winsome organizers are a lot cheaper in price than the IKEA Alex drawers, but don’t lack in quality (and the IKEA shipping costs are outrageous) and the Winsome organizers are of better quality than the one they sell at Michaels also. You get 7 drawers which is more than the IKEA and Michaels versions. They quality is better than both the IKEA and Michaels versions as long as you PUT THEM TOGETHER CORRECTLY like I mentioned before. Have your screws tight but not too tight and make sure you are putting the right parts where they go. I’ve seen some tragic pictures on here of some of your finished organizers. They only lasted a few months because you didn’t put them together correctly. It’s not the company’s fault, It’s definitely an intermediate project so have someone familiar with building to help you. Mine came out perfect. Very strong, and sturdy. My house is currently being renovated at the moment but once I get everything together I will provide a picture of these beautiful organizers and how they have helped create the perfect vanity.
