  • Very Happy With It!
Got this wine fridge to replace a cheap older model from a different company that died. We've been using it for a few weeks, and so far, it's great. I don't understand the reviews complaining about the compressor being noisy. It's MUCH quieter than the old wine fridge that it replaced. I have to really listen to hear it humming when the compressor is running. Maybe those folks got a defective model, or maybe the manufacturer took the customer feedback and made some improvements? Whatever the cause, don't be put off by those reviews complaining about this unit being loud. It's quieter than any fridge I've ever owned. It's deep enough to fit long-necked whites like Rieslings and Vinho Verde. The lower shelves have a little more height, so they can accommodate wider bottles like burgundy or pinot noir. So far, I haven't encountered any size bottles that won't fit. The bottom shelf is an open bin, so you could even fit a 1.5L bottle on its side in there. The controls on the top front of the unit are easy to access, understand, and operate. We have a thermometer inside the unit (our own - it didn't come with it) to double-check the temperature setting. We've found that the top 2 or 3 shelves are about 4 - 5 degrees warmer than the temperature setting, but the bottom shelves match the setting. This is great, because it gives you a cooler zone at the bottom for your whites, without getting your reds too cool. Just remember to set the temperature on the unit for your whites / coldest desired temp. I was thrilled to discover that it required no assembly when it arrived. Just remove the packaging and plug it in! ... show more

  • Worth the money !
Purchased about 4 weeks ago and it is working well. Big plus is the compressor technology used. Unit is very quiet. Temperature in the box seems right, but I have not put a thermometer inside . Small and compact , will fit in many spaces in your home. Only negatives are the wire racks which are very flimsy, and the narrowness of each row. You will have difficulty fitting anything but a true bordeaux bottle shape in the slots. The bottom will fit other bottle sizes and other items you want to cool. All in all , for this money it is a good buy . I would recommend it to anyone needing a small wine cooler . Beach Audio was the seller . Quick delivery ! ... show more

  • Working as expected.
It was easy to install and easy to set the temperature. The deliveryman made a good suggestion which I followed: let the unit sit, unplugged, for 5-6 hrs so that the liquid in the tubes settle properly. I let it sit for a day before plugging it in. I have had no problems (yet). I set the temp at 55F; the temperature varies between 54-57F, depending on my room temp. I bought a 3yr warranty with this unit as there are plenty of reviews which described their wine coolers (varying models and brands) stopped functioning in less than a year. It is not too noisy - has the same sound as my refrigerator which I don't notice very often. ... show more

  • Wonderful to enjoy wine at the right temperature!
This is my second Wine Enthusiast cooler. I find both coolers to be of high quality and I have never had any issues with either cooler. The cooler will only hold 20 bottles that are of standard size (sauv blanc, cabernet sauv, etc). However, if you put chard bottles, syrah bottles, or pinot bottles in the cooler, you will have to remove some of the shelves (very easy) and accept that less than 20 bottles will fit. Be sure that you put the cooler on a hard floor or wood. I had to put something on one of the corners as the cooler does not stand evenly. Still, you cannot go wrong with this cooler. Looks great too! ... show more

  • These never work
The is the second one I have purchased after the previous one stopped working after only a year. This one arrived, I plugged it in and it never cooled down.

  • Expected Higher Quality from Wine Enthusiast
I think it is noisy.......and when the unit cools down, the sides get very warm. Customer service is very nice......when I measured the temp on the sides of my 1st unit at 88 degrees, they felt something was wrong. The replacement unit came this week, I plugged it in hoping for the best. But the 2nd one is noisy, and the sides also warm up. This might be nice in the dead of winter, but California is warm now, and A/C is going. Guess it is good to know that the first unit is not a lemon, but one of a bunch. I like the single unit compartment, I have the temp set for 60; the temp rises to 62 or 63, then the motor kicks in to cool.....that is when the sides heat up and the noise starts. Wine is kept better than in my closet, however thought this would be GREAT from the previous reviews. Did no one notice the heat and noise??? I get about 3 emails a day trying to sell me wine as a byproduct of this purchase. ... show more
