  • great deep dive in to windows internals
Format: Kindle
Part 2 is a great follow up to part one. It continues the deep dive in to windows internals and gives a wonderful overview of complex topics like the implementation of HVCI and things like the registry and startup/shutdown routines of windows. Good read for those who are doing windows development or working on the security side looking for better understanding of what windows is doing under the hood. ... show more

  • Lots of info - usefulness ???
Format: Paperback
This book is a peek at how various Windows facilities are implemented. Like most of the books I've read that Microsoft supports, the depth of the reportage seems to be almost sufficient to be useful, but not quite. Read this if you are really interested in the underbelly of Windows and are willing to settle for a view that doesn't quite get you down to the nuts and bolts. As a tool to help you program to the Windows API's forget it. This is a how they did it book and a somewhat superficial one. I'm a curious guy and I'm not sorry I bought it, but I do feel a bit let down. ... show more

  • So much to know!
Format: Paperback
Very detailed and super informative. I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know until I read this book. I’d recommend it even if you don’t have to deal with Windows Server day in and day out.
