Making this amateur baker happy

I'm just a new, amateur baker with lots of room for improvement. I had a recipe that called for whitening plain buttercream frosting to make it less yellow, and I didn't have anything like that. I ordered this and it was great to use. I also realized I could fix my food-coloring errors pretty quickly and easily with it. It gives me a lot more range for color with the gel color set I use. I also love the no-mess squeeze bottle compared with the little jars of gel coloring that require gloves or dye my fingers. :) Great price too.

Must have for royal icing

Love this stuff, I use it every time I make icing. A little goes a long way and it really makes the colors pop! No weird taste and doesn't mess with the consistency of the frosting or icing.

Great Color, But Packaging Could Be Better

The color itself is excellent — it mixes in smoothly and gives a nice, bright white tone to buttercream, fondant, and icing without affecting taste or texture. It’s especially helpful when you want to neutralize the yellow tint from butter. However, the bottle tends to leak a little, especially around the cap after a few uses. It can get a bit messy if not stored upright. I still use it regularly, but I wish the packaging were more secure. Overall, great product — just be careful when handling and storing it!

Exactly what you need to make your frosting whiter

I've gotten this for many years from Wilton. I like to use real butter in my frosting. If I want my frosting to be white, this really helps. It's still not gonna be pure white with butter in it. However, it will look a lot better than without. I'm really happy I know about it. Crisco and shortening may give you pure white frosting, but it's just not as delicious as real butter in the frosting. In fact I really hate using it. There's nothing like real butter. I want my cupcakes to taste as good as they look.
