  • Extremely solid, extremely well built, but probably overkill
Size: 36 in. Handle Style: 20 lb. Head
This is probably the highest quality sledgehammer I've ever used. It is extremely well built. I could probably swing this thing at concrete all day for a year and it'd look brand new at the end of it. The handle construction is fantastic as well, driving a splitting wedge through some of the knottiest grand fir I've ever seen and I felt zero reverb. I was honestly amazed. That said, this thing is super heavy. I was used to swinging 8-12 lb hammers and figured the 20 wouldn't be that much different and I could not have been more wrong. This thing is HEAVY. It's almost too heavy to use (as a 6' 220 lb guy in fairly good shape). I laughed and handed it to my wife (who is much smaller) and she could barely lift it over her shoulder. I would definitely not recommend it for anyone who is not either above average strength or using an assist. ... show more

  • Heavy, well built, very effective
Size: 36 in. Handle Style: 20 lb. Head
Well built, heavy duty, very heavy impact! Broke up 6”+ concrete with just a few blows. Being 40 and not quite the shape I was once in, I took a few more breaks than I expected due to the weight of heaving this hammer. But the weight of this thing does most of the work. It would have been far harder or impossible to swing a lighter sledge with enough force to do what this can. The handle is extremely strong and shock absorbing. Slamming a 20 lb head of this 25 lb hammer against solid concrete sent no repercussions up my arms whatsoever. I’m positive I would have broken the head off a wood handled sledge with the job I did today (having done that a couple times previous on other jobs with a lighter sledge and a splitting axe). That said, I’m 6’3” and a bit overweight at mid 230s, I would not recommend this product for those smaller in stature. But I love it! ... show more

  • heavier and bigger than i thought but i just didn't realize...
Size: 36 in. Handle Style: 20 lb. Head
great hammer! truly bullet proof a lot heavier than i realized but still pretty awesome.... if i would have bought it locally i would have been able to see and feel the weight may have bought a lighter one since im using this for work and i have to get my crew to use it as well.... but with the heavy weight it basically smashes everything in one hit.... I use it for concrete demo and with my other hammer it would take multiple swings, this is pretty much one swing one kill hammer pros: everything worth every penny! cons: a tad heavy for 20lbs it actually weighs 26lbs but still manageable... any heavier would be to much especially for all day use update 2024: I bought this in 2013 and its still in great shape this is the best sledgehammer ever made my kids and grand kids will inherit it! The only sledgehammer I have yet to break! its a beast! currently it cost more than I paid for it originally but I would not even question it if I needed another I would buy it. I am a general contractor and I have used it every time I needed a hammer, its not even weak its still going ... show more

  • Saved me $14,800
Size: 36 in. Handle Style: 20 lb. Head
Couldn't be happier with the B.A.S.H.'s performance (20 pound; 36" handle). Had a quote from a contractor for $15K to demolish an old brick outbuilding, 17' x 20'. Walls were 2 bricks thick. Ordered the B.A.S.H. the night of 12/29/23 and it arrived the morning of New Year's Eve. My smaller (~8 pound) sledgehammer barely left a scratch. But with the B.A.N.G. it took me a total of ~12 hours to reduce the thing to rubble. Great ROI ... and I didn't have to pay a gym membership for the exercise. Now if only Wilton made wheelbarrows, too. ... show more

  • A _REAL_ sledgehammer!
Size: 36 in. Handle Style: 20 lb. Head
UPDATE 7/21/20: I've had this for over a year now and still love it. I've busted up a lot of rock with it, and have had no issues with the head coming loose. In fact, I don't see any real evidence of the head deforming either (the head on my 16 pound hammer has noticeably deformed over time). Worth the money in my opinion. Original review: I'd been using a 16 lb. sledge for many years to bust up the occasional rock on our property. This year I'm clearing an area for a shed, and decided to get something a little bigger to (hopefully) break things up a little faster and with fewer hits. I was surprised at first that there aren't really that many options for a 20 lb. sledge. I first purchased one of the same brand as the 16 lb. hammer I have, and had the head came loose on both the original and the replacement. That surprised me because I thought I'd paid enough to get a reasonable quality hammer. In the reviews, I'd seen someone mention this hammer. While I initially balked at the price, I decided that it would be worth it to pay a little (okay, a lot) more if it meant getting something that wouldn't fail. So far this hammer has not disappointed! I love the handle, too; it really helps dampen the vibration when hitting hard, immobile objects. ... show more

  • You need to be a very big guy to pick this up and hold above your head
Size: 36 in. Handle Style: 20 lb. Head
Smash it up destroy and kill it is a massive quality 20 pound in weight sledge hammer. If you can pick it up or let alone strong enough to lift it above your head and able to bring it down on to any thing. it will totally descintergrate what ever it makes contact with. Unless your name is King Kong I don't think you able to us this. Ps I forgot to say this is a very good quality and the best you can buy and last for ever.to be honest any thing over 12 pounds is far too heavy for most people to use properly ... show more

  • All about that Handle
Size: 36 in. Handle Style: 20 lb. Head
Not going to lie, I've only swung the 10lbs before..... this 20lbs is in a league of its own. Made quick work of some Metamorphic-Gneiss Rocks, and didn't feel a thing in my broken wrist ( high vibrations are a killer the day after ) which is the entire reason I bought this one. They don't lie, this handle is made of fairy dust, now its a hefty fairy but a fairy none the less. If you are going to be swinging this all day, or have bad wrist, No doubt this is the sledge to swing .... even after I destroyed the rocks, I just couldn't stop swinging. To have the Power of Thor in your hands is addictive, the trail of broken rocks left behind me. You just get lost in the swinging, the carnage. Some rocks won’t join your cult at first, the resistance. First few strokes land as if the rock is throwing the head back at you ( Drop forged 46 HRC steel ) ,but quickly it becomes a splinter faction. Few more strokes and all that is left is crushed powder. Yea I’d buy it again, but with the build on this sucker I won’t ever have to ... show more

  • It's BIG
Size: 36 in. Handle Style: 20 lb. Head
I love this hammer. If you have the space and ability to wield it, this hammer only needs one hit to get the job done. I use it at work for anything from brake drums on semis, to reshaping bent metal. This is THE hammer for smashing things. Worth every penny.
