  • Pungo is a great kayak!
Color: Galaxy
I love Pungo kayaks! The design allows for stability and the length (12.2) allows for great maneuverability. The cockpit is open, I do not feel claustrophobic! Plus I can dip by toes in the water if needed. I own two Pungos and my friend has one as well. We are very happy with our purchase. For the price point, this is a great kayak. Old Town is good but heavier than a Pungo. So, if you have to haul it around, (we are in our very late 60s in age) a couple of extra pounds means a lot. Fiberglass is lighter, but far more expensive. I also do not like the confinement of some of the fiberglass models. ... show more

  • Best Recreational Kayak at this price point
The Wilderness Systems PUNGO 120/125 is hands down the best Kayak at this price point on the market for 2020. Certainly one of the best if not the best seats, with adjustable lumbar, thigh rise etc all while seated. Foot rest design is easy to adjust while paddling. Kayak is stable has a great secondary edge, good glide and tracking. The only real negatives are minor. The Kayak sits very low, so in rough water you are going to get water inside. The removable dash makes it hard to get in and out of the kayak if you have long legs. Of course you can take it off. The cup holders are too shallow to keep your drink in with out falling out if you lean to one side or the other. The water proof dash container will cook your phone if you store it there, or put a cool towel over it like i do to keep it from overheating. Lastly the shipping packaging is a joke, WS needs to do a better job of packaging to prevent damage. I was lucky mine was not damaged considering the cardboard and plastic were barely even hanging on, let alone protecting it in anyway. Good luck getting one however, took 2 months due to the high demand. Thanks COVID. ... show more

  • No customer support for this product
Color: Mango
Overall, the kayak is nice. However, I have attempted to get support on two issues with the kayak and have not received any support or contact from the company regarding these issues. First, the dashboard drybox latch falls off every time that it is opened. This essentially renders the drybox on the dashboard useless. It is only a matter of time until it falls of while in the water. Additionally, the dry storage on the aft end of the kayak is not sealed. Any water that gets into the kayak runs along the keel, past the bulkhead, and into the dry storage. This obviously makes the dry storage completely useless. These two issues are easily fixable by the manufacturer, but they have not provided any customer support and will not respond to claims. Amazon directs you to obtain manufacturer support via the "contact the manufacturer" button on your items. However, Wilderness Systems does not handle customer support, they direct you to Confluence Outdoor. Confluence Outdoor does not have a phone number to call and you must use an online form to reach support. I have submitted both issues via the link provided by amazon to Confluence Outdoor, but never received a response, despite their average response time being 3 days. (It has been 13 days since the initial request for support.) For a product at this price point, the features described in the listing should work upon arrival. If they don't, there should be a process to contact the manufacturer and have them resolved. ... show more

  • Pure perfection!
Color: Purple Dawn
We were looking at several different kayaks to purchase when we came across the Pungo 120 and 125. They had excellent reviews so we thought we would give them a shot. We had read several reviews where they arrived damaged, but this was not our experience. We ordered the 120 for my wife and the 125 for myself and both showed up in perfect condition. We took them out one evening just before sunset and wow what a difference from our old dolphin kayaks. These guys being 12 foot track better and are much faster on the water than our old 10 footers. The adjustable seat and cockpit make it stand out from the rest. They also have a rear bulkhead with dry storage that a lot of others don’t have. We could not be happier with our decision to purchase the Pungo. ... show more

  • Received Used Kayak
Color: Purple Dawn
Received a used kayak. I noticed grass stains and drag marks on the "new" kayak. Also, the BIN was sloppily scratched on and isn't legible. Otherwise the kayak seems acceptable. I did have to adjust the removable skid plate as it wasn't installed straight and this would probably effect tracking.

  • Stable and roomy...
Color: Mango
I had purchased a Pungo 125 and loved it so much I got a Pungo 120 for my wife, and she loves it. This is a very stable kayak that tracks very well. The cockpit is large and roomy and seat back and bottom are independently adjustable for best comfort. The dashboard is great with plenty of spaces to put drinks and phone etc. The dash board can also be removed easily for extra room to fit a child or a dog with no problem paddling. The rear storage hatch is large and roomy. This kayak is wider than most so I would suggest a paddle at least 95 in or 240 cm as they say in the kayak game. We have 6 kayaks in our family fleet from Preceptions to Pelicans and the Pungos are hands down the best rides. The only thing I can say that's a small negative when buying kayaks online to have shipped is to expect some scratches or scuffs on delivery. They are packaged in very lite weight card board with plastic wrap that doesn't offer a whole lot of protection. Nothing a little bit of sanding with a super fine grit sandpaper can't fix. You will not be disappointed with this purchase. ... show more

  • Definitely first of it’s class, stable and safe kayak.
This Kayak earns the reputation of being the best of it’s class for recreational kayaks. It is very stable. Felt right at home from the moment I sat inside. It glides and tracks through the water like butter. The seat, with all its adjustable features allowed me to paddle longer than usual with no soreness to my back. I have lower back troubles, but with this seat I experienced none even no pain the next day. I have the teal Pungo and it’s true to the color, beautiful. Can’t wait to get out on the water again. Definitely a must buy if recreational kayaking is your aim. ... show more
