  • Great Value!
We ordered this when our trusty old wii console finally died on us. If you don't need to connect to the internet, then this is a great buy. It comes with a genuine Nintendo wii controller and nun chuck, plus the Mario kart game (which my kids love). When you consider the cost of those items if you were to buy them separately, then the console is extremely inexpensive. So far, it has been working great and we can play all of our old wii favorites just like we used to. We are very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • did not come with mario kart
Everything seems to work good, but it simply did not come with mario kart as advertised. Kind of a bummer to unpack everything and then realize you don't get to use it.

  • Good for gaming in the bedroom.
When I first purchased this, I almost had a sense of regret as I had just found out about how everyone reacted to it. But honestly, once you get it going and start playing games it's pretty good. Now let's start off with the elephant in the room: No internet or GC compatibility. Internet isn't a huge thing for me on the Wii. It would be nice, but I really don't need it. I can stream stuff like Netflix from my phone or from the living room TV. While missing GC compatibility sucks, it's not what I bought this for. I already own a GameCube. The quality obsiously isn't the greatest, running at 480i. But if you're using it for a TV my size (see picture), then it really doesn't matter. Games like Super Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros still look pretty good. The only thing that bothers me from time to time is that this thing is loud. During loading screens, you'll hear beeps and boops and random moving parts inside of the Wii, and loading takes a bit. Once you get past it, it doesn't bother you as much. This is really a good deal for a console, I would buy it if you're just going to sit and game in bed. If you have a bigger TV or one that's HD, I would recommend getting an actual Wii (or maybe a switch since it's already 2017). Total: 8.5/10. Overall, you just need to look past it's downsides and look at it for what it is. The games. ... show more

  • A Good Value for a Basic Wii System
The Wii system itself is very basic, but all that I need. I don't have reliable, or fast, internet so picking up this basic console worked out really well. For the system, 5 stars. I love Mario Kart, so that's a win-win. Considering the game sells for at least $30, I'd call this a great deal. I knocked off 2 stars because the wiimote does not function properly. I tested a second wiimote and had no issues. The red wiimote that came with the console must have an issue with its sensor, because it jumps all over the screen and disappears frequently. It worked well enough to play some New Super Mario, but when it comes to using the motion sensor? Forget it. Hopefully I can contact the seller and work out a replacement remote. I really don't want to have to pack up the whole system and ship it back or have to purchase a new remote for an additional $30+. Buyers in the market for a Wii - Please note, this system does NOT come with internet connectivity. If you're looking for something small and sweet, this is it. Update - in typical Amazon fashion, my defective wiimote was taken care of. Without having to repackage the system and mail back, too! Upped the star rating from 3 to 5, I now have a perfect working console with new wiimote. Awesome! ... show more

  • Ok for younger players
Limited in the discs it will read (Wii only; not wii u or GameCube). and no Internet connectivity are the main drawbacks. Ok for small kids to play Super Mario Brothers or Mario Kart, but a far cry from the original Wii.

  • I want a Wii :(
It didn't work after I got everything setup. I didn't know that the Mini was not HDMI, weird. I tried different cables, and this machine did not work. I went on nintendo.com and many people had the same issue with the Minis, as well as the Wii U. So just make sure you keep your receipts and have an option to return because the Wii may not work, its just that particular device. It sems that after people that could exchange there devices, things were all good afterward. I would not recommend buy a used Mini, because it just may not work. The seller said it worked great, yeah right!!! ... show more

  • I have so much fun playing Nintendo with my kids
I have so much fun playing Nintendo with my kids. Brings me back to when I was young and played Mario Brothers with my grandpa. Such a fun bonding experience and memories I will never forget. I hope my kids will say the same some day. This is an ideal product for us. It has been a great starter game unit for us. Bought it for my son's 6th birthday. We really like Mario Kart but the Mario Brothers game is our favorite. The graphics are not perfect but that's ok for us since I'd rather have a less expensive console for good enough graphics than pay a ton more for a really nice picture. The experience is the same to us. The "remote plus" is a lot of fun. This was new to me. It basically allows you to have a sensory experience when certain things happen (I'm so into the game I'm not actually even sure what it is- maybe when you die?). Basically it is just a little vibration. But you can also use the plus remote for flying and big jumps (by shaking it). Really a lot of fun and at a great price. I would most definitely buy this again! ... show more
