I was introduced to WIGWAM socks 5 years ago when i was going hiking in the Alps for 2 weeks.I was given 5 pairs as a present as i had always moaned i never seemed to get quality or wear out of socks and i had tried a lot of expensive brands but was always let down with holes in the toes or elastic wearing and the socks slipping. To this day i still have those socks and wear them daily.I have abused these socks in all weather conditions washed them consistently in the washing machine and they still will not die.The quality is beyond all my expectations.The quality of the merino wool is par excellence.For example i had done an 8 hour off track hike in 25C temp.(77F)in heavy hiking boots and my feet were not sweaty or uncomfortable and that was this year in one of the original pair.Last winter I was hiking in bad weather conditions in heavy snow,temp. minus 7C(20F) and water filled both my boots as i went through ice in a stream.For fear off cold feet i did not stop till i got back to the car 4 hours later and my feet were comfy all the way despite the socks been soaking wet,you can not get better then Merino wool for temp. control. I do a lot of trail and road running and on my days off when my feet are tired it is a pleasure to walk in casual shoes or runners with these socks,they feel like slippers.I am actually sitting here and just noticed i am wearing an old pair.I think i will be buried with these socks on me. I ordered the MEN 9-12(LG) and i am a size 10 and they fit perfect,they arrived within the allocated time frame for delivery straight to my door no fuss and neatly packed. I highly recommend these socks and i am going to buy more from this buyer as i think 5 years is pushing it.You may find cheaper Merino wool socks or ones with a higher then 60% wool content but will they last the pace and is the wool good quality?Wigwam have got it right with the material quality and ratio.What have you got to lose just try a pair...it is strange to say one of the best presents i have ever received was a pair of socks. I just have to add that after writing this review i went out to do some digging in my garden with my 5 year old Wigwam socks on inside wellies and we all know how socks fall down due to broken elastic especially in lose fitting shoes or boots,well these have not they stayed on my legs and feet were i left them,hats off to you again Wigwam. ... show more

Well I thought Wigwam was the answer since I couldn't buy the Costco wool blend socks which were out of season. The Costco socks last forever, I'd like to say 10 years. These socks aren't like that. Maybe a couple of years then holes. All wool is not the same. I'm disappointed with Wigwam. And the price is high. To me this is another designed to fail product like LED light bulbs which burn out faster than incandescence and are billed as 10 year bulbs. It's all about money. ... show more

I’ve worn these, tough, durable, comfortable, great fitting, nicely weighted, warm in the winter, cool in the summer, socks every work day for the past five years. If you work in construction, there is no better sock for your boots. If you’re working in boots with a safety toe, there is no seam in the toe of these socks, leaving a little more room and reducing rubbing, blistering and callousing.
