  • Good for 1 Room
We appreciate having this AC unit, we use it in an upstairs office that faces the sun all day and that room heats up while my husband's trying to work. This is too loud to keep on while making phone calls, but it is handy for cooling the room down after about 10 mins, and we can run it while on lunch break or not in the room. It would probably be the same for a bedroom, that you would run it before you want to go to sleep and then turn it back off. We live in a mild climate in NW Washington state, where 75-78 is a hot day for us and this unit is adequate for just the hottest corner of the house. I wouldn't expect it to be adequate for a whole house or much hotter temperatures. ... show more

  • AC started leaking freon this first month
We purchased an AC unit from another company and had problems with it the first year. They were willing to replace the product free of charge. This company wants to argue about fixing and/or replacing it. We are returning it to Amazon and will not do business with Wynther company again.

  • Good product, poor longevity, good support
This review will be based on three factors: the quality of the product itself, the longevity of the product, and the support I received. [3.25/5] Regarding the quality of the product, it is overall good. Slightly louder than advertised, but effective in small rooms. As it is a single-hose air conditioner, I wouldn't recommend it if it is the only air conditioner in your house, but it works very well cooling down my bedroom an extra few degrees before bed. The window kit that comes with it is also pretty solid, but the hose has a weird diameter that I could not find a kit for. Essentially, your only option is to buy from the manufacturer if you need another kit for whatever reason. The longevity of the product was overall poor. For me, this was the most important part, and the air conditioner unfortunately did not hold up. It worked well for the first season, but it was no longer blowing cool air after setting it up for the second season. I've noticed this seems to be a problem in a lot of other reviews I've read, so keep that in mind if you have your own air conditioner. Finally, we come to support. I had previously heard bad things about the support, so I was somewhat worried when I emailed support. However, to my surprise, it went rather smoothly. They actually extended my one-year general warranty since it had expired at that point. After a few emails, they wanted me to internally inspect the machine. After taking some pictures of the inside, we quickly moved to sending it back for a replacement. I did have to pay $78 in shipping from the West Coast to the East Coast through FedEx, so the shipping wasn't free. However, in return, I got a replacement unit with an additional one-year warranty, so not the worst deal. Overall, I have to give a big shout-out to my support agent, Chenie G. The process was smooth thanks to their help. However (and I assume this is not Chenie’s fault), I would give the feedback that the document I was sent to instruct me in removing the outer shell of the machine provided inadequate instruction on what screws to remove and how to actually remove the side panels. For the sake of your future support customers, you should update the document to more accurately reflect the process. Please pass that along to whoever makes them. ... show more

I've had it less than a month but so far so good. I had no problem assembling the unit (once I found everything - helpful hint, make sure you check all of the styrofoam to get all of the pieces out! I spent about ten minutes looking for the grid to lock it into the window. Turns out, I left it downstairs in the packaging.) The only dislike I have so far is that you cannot change the direction the air is blowing. I've had other portables where I could direct the airflow up or down. ... show more

So far, pretty good. Bought it for our living room which is not big but opens up to our dining room and kitchen. Living room stays nice and cool, it travels somewhat into the dining room but doesn't touch the kitchen. Fairly quiet too!

  • You don't get the quality you pay for
For what I spent on these, I was expecting far better quality. I'd researched between this model and an Emerson unit. If I could go back, I would get the Emerson to save myself a sizeable chunk of cash and probably get a better functioning portable air conditioner. Problem 1: THE NOISE. This AC unit is far louder than other portable units from LG, Emerson, and Honeywell I've used. The build quality isn't as good as I was expecting and a lot of the noise is produce when the AC condenser kicks causing the shell to vibrate loudly similar to what you'd expect from a clunker with big subwoofers in the trunk. I've used a sound measuring app which shows dB's ranging from the 60 to 70's when the AC condenser is running and as you turn up the fan to higher modes. Problem 2: The actual AC output. I have my AC unit placed in a 8x10 bedroom, and even with the door/windows closed and the shades shut, this unit barely keeps up on 90 degree days. Even more, the air that comes out isn't even that cold and I don't see how these could possibly get a space to thermostat temps below 67 degrees. ... show more

  • Water everywhere each morning
Each morning I have to wipe up a big puddle of water. I have drained the unit before using and still each morning there is water all over the floor. I am sending it in for repairs because it is not an item that you can return. I should have bought something from Home Depot so I could return it locally. ... show more
