  • These are truly good shoes
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Olive Green
After spending lots of money of custom orthotics and supportive shoes, a physical therapist suggested I should actually go the other direction and try barefoot shoes. She said many times foot and knee pain is the result of muscle deterioration and orthotic (super supportive) shoes can increase the issue because they provide so much support the muscles don't get as strong as they should. I looked up barefoot shoes and was taken aback by how expensive many of them were. I wasn't sure I'd actually like them, and didn't want to spend $$$$ if I hated the shoe. I saw a review that recommended WHITIN as a super affordable choice so gave them a try. I'll admit, I was skeptical. However, as soon as I put the shoe on for the first time, I was won over. They are very comfortable, the heel doesn't slip, the sole is flexible, etc. The shoe also breathes well so my foot doesn't get too hot. I now have an indoor pair that works better than typical slippers, and several pair to wear for everyday. I've been wearing WHITIN shoes almost exclusively for about 3 months now, and my feet are so much happier. I still have some knee pain, but it is a bit better. Despite the think sole, it is pretty grippy. Not sure how it does on wet surfaces, but it does well on smooth rock surfaces, gravel, pavement, slippery floors, etc. A few things to know about the shoe. The sole is thin. You will feel rocks and other surfaces under your feet. After all, these are barefoot shoe style. This means I can't wear them everywhere. If I were a runner, I probably would need more support for long runs or risk foot injury -- but I'm not a runner : ) My biggest complaint is the sole is pretty noisy on tile floors. For normal walking, it makes a soft clop-clop sound like a horse on pavement. Every so often the sole will hit just right and make a huge squeaking noise. Not a HUGE deal, but it took a while to get used to. With a think sole, I don't know how long the shoes will last. However, I've worn mine a lot while walking on pavement, and the sole is still fine. These shoes are definitely worth trying. With good sales, I ended up buying 4 pairs. I'm thinking I might get a few more in case they stop making them. At this point, I'm not motivated to invest in the "fancy" barefoot shoes. I don't think I could like them more than I like these ones. ... show more

  • Great bare foot shoes
Size: 11 Wide Color: Black Gum
Wow, these barefoot shoes are a revelation! They arrived ready to make my feet rejoice. Comfort? Check. Feel? Double check. I’ve been strutting around in them, both socked and sockless, and let me tell you, they’ve been a dream on my lengthy strolls. I'm especially fond of the toe box—it's as wide as my ambitions! After enduring some toe-cramming footwear that made my toes look like sardines, finding these Whitin barefoot shoes feels like a Cinderella moment. They scream quality, look fabulous, provide stellar arch support, and seem built to withstand the test of time—all at a price that won’t make your wallet cry. They fit like a charm; I normally sport a size 11, snagged an 11, and it’s a match made in footwear heaven! If you want a shoe that’s just plain awesome and budget-friendly, you can't miss here! ... show more

  • Awesome shoes. Dress em up or down.
Size: 12 Wide Color: Grey Black
This is my 2nd pair of Whitin shoes. I absolutely love them. I run and workout in the other pair. These shoes go great with shorts or can even be worn with jeans. The toebox is super wide. They’re extremely comfortable. I’m just going to keep adding to my collection.

  • Decent Barefoot Shoe for the Gym
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: Grey Gum
Simple shoe. I need a replacement pair for the gym. I primarily life weights and these fit the bill for what I needed. I do not squat or run in them so I can't comment on that. They are a barefoot shoes so there is no cushion. Material seems like it will hold up but time will tell. I workout 6 days a week for at least an hour. Traction is good on the gym flooring (rubber). My feet do not get to hot which is a positive. Fit is standard in the heel with a wide toe box. I purchased a size 8.5 which seems to fit correctly. Only complaint so far is they have retained that manufacture smell. If you are sensitive to smells that maybe a deal breaker. I do not notice however when they are on my feet. Only when I have them packed in the bag. I would recommend if you are looking for a cheeper barefoot shoe. I will also note that my previous shoe was a Reebok Nano 5 and these are similar but not the same. ... show more

  • Great Feel, Great Price
Size: 11 Wide Color: Olive Green
I really like these Whitin men’s wide toe shoes. The wide toe box is comfortable and gives my feet room to move, which makes a big difference. They feel good right away, without that stiff break-in feeling, and they’re easy to wear for everyday use. I also love the price. For the comfort and quality, they feel like a great value. Keep doing what you’re doing, Whitin, and I’ll keep buying what I’m buying. ... show more

  • Didn't realize barefoot sneakers were for me
Size: 13 Wide Color: Olive Green
I have worn barefoot running shoes in the past but never thought about them for daily use. The wide toe-box is great, they slip on easily and I think they look great as well.

  • I’d prefer to go barefoot
Size: 12 Wide Color: Olive Green
I walk barefoot everywhere. I’ve had many kinds of zero drop or barefoot shoes. I’ve hiked mountains barefoot. These are so uncomfortable I’d walk on coals before putting these back on. I wore them for maybe an hour and a half and my feet, ankles and knees were killing me. I’ve never had a shoe that has ever given me so much pain. They’re hard, like literally hard. Then there is this weird arch support that pushes the middle of your foot up for some reason? I took out the insole and it felt like I was wearing a piece of wood or something. It was strange. They’re just not for me. Hope they treat you better. ... show more
