We bought this WhiteFang skateboard for our son as a Christmas gift several years ago when he was first learning, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. It was exciting for him to receive a complete, ready-to-use skateboard, and the deck felt stable and approachable while he was developing his balance and confidence. What has impressed us most is how well it has held up. The Canadian maple deck still feels solid, the trucks remain responsive without feeling overly twitchy, the wheels have worn well, and the bearings continue to roll smoothly. Those details made it comfortable for a beginner, but they also kept the skateboard useful as his ability improved. This has never felt like a disposable toy or something he immediately outgrew. It has withstood years of ordinary use by a growing child and is still being ridden today. When I think about the value of a gift, I look at how much enjoyment it provides and whether it continues to be useful after the excitement of Christmas morning has passed. First ever skateboard for my 10yr old, seems like a great start. Like buying your first car, Budget friendly. Getting very beat up as he’s learning from some friends and guys at the skate park. Knowing how to tighten and loosen it to tune it helped some much!

It is a birthday gift for my daughter. She loves it when she opened the box. However, there is a little missed paint on the top (see the last picture). We decided to ignore it and still enjoyed the skateboard. She tired it on the same day. Then there was a scratch on the back by the wheels.(2nd last picture) Not a big deal. Told her to just let it go. However, the third time she rode it. It is chipped on one side.(1st and 2nd picture). She definitely did not use this heavily. She is just a beginner. I did not expect this last very long but maybe for a year or two or at least a couple months? Not very happy that it is chipped for only used 3 times. Other than this, my daughter likes the skateboard a lot. It is good for beginners. UPDATE on 10/20/2020: After I left the review about my problem with this item, the customer services contacted me soon. They were very polite and considerate to offer a refund or replacement. I chose the replacement because my daughter loves to play with it. I got the replacement skateboard today(10/20). And my daughter jumped on it as soon as she saw it! I will buy from them again if needed because they surely take care of their customers. ... show more

    • Inexpensive, get what you paid for, but good for beginners and not much else

Definitely a situation where you get what you pay for. Most skateboards are around 100 starting amount, but because of how inexpensive this one is it makes sense. Not super durable, looks okay as far as design, and not really stable without significant adjustment out the box. It took me a long time to get the wheels to be stable and ride somewhat smooth. But if you are just learning and expecting to break a board, an option like this works fine. Just enough to show the basics but not much beyond that. ... show more
