  • Watch out for cold winds and dust.
Another great read from TJ. Spoiler alert. This one starts with Billy Bob Buckley and Percy O'Doul O'Riley best friends since grade school Billy, called Bubba has been living with Percy called Riley and his family for a long time. Hell his own family didn't miss him. Riley was away for two weeks at a camping spot known to Bubba and himself. Of course his dad, a marine knew all about it and set them both on the trail to it. Riley's dad is a Vietnam vet with a lot of knowledge which he imparts to Riley and Bubba as needed. Once Riley is at the campsite he fish's for fresh fish every day. Good eating. They also have a small garden there that provides him with fresh vegetables as well. Riley has a good time for those two weeks. Once those two weeks pass Riley heads down the mountain to where he left his vehicle. On the way he spots blood on a rock and trails it to Bubba. Bubba tells him that in the two weeks he's been gone the world as they know it died. A storm him blowing cold winds. His dad had the family consisting of Mom, Dad and Maryanne his sister come to the garage. Once they were all in he closed and locked the steel doors and shutters over the windows. One secure place. After the storm everyone was helping everyone clean up. That's when the weirdness began. People started fighting and killing people. Riley's Dad kept everyone at the garage for three days till things quieted. Once home they packed up everything, closed and secured the house and headed for the farm where Dad's Mom and Pop lived. Riley is amazed to learn all this and they headed for where Bubba had hidden his truck. Someone had burned Riley's vehicle. Once home at the farm Dad started serious security measures as he knew the lawless survivors would be coming. Grandpa was a Korean war vet and a Marine like Riley's dad. Both men were extremely competent when it came to security. After a week or so it was decided that Bubba and Riley would head out for a recon mission. Riley couldn't believe the burned out homes, cars and dead bodies all over. On a stop at a convenience store where they found a case of jerky that had been over looked they found a dog staring at them as they were leaving. Riley was going to shoot the dog but Bubba stopped him and offered the dog jerkey. The dog took the jerky and they now had a dog. The name on his collar said Clyde and his tags were up to date. Bubba told Riley the dog was a Catahoola Leopard Dog and they now had night security so they could sleep at night without fear. Riley and Bubba get with bikers where they save four woman who were going to be sold. Here Riley meets the woman who will become his wife. So begins one damned fine read. I hope TJ turns this into a series. This one has Riley, Bubba, Jo, Maryanne who married Bubba, Mom, Dad, Gramps, Gram, Clyde, and those who occupy the farm with them, raids for supplies, finding a nurse and four more kids and Riley and Bubba doing their best to survive, stay alive and protect them all. Five stars one great read. ... show more

  • attack of the cosmic winds
I just finished this story that TJ wrote some time back. It had been buried in my library unread. It’s a good read and I liked the fact that it was caused by an event outside of human actions. The participants began to adapt and deal with the event in the way the tale is told is interesting. TJ I think you need to develop this story line a bit. ... show more

  • Awesome read.
TJ did it again! Another great story. It’s an apocalypse of a different type. The characters are real and likable. You care about them and worry them through their trials in this new world. It’s not Mad Max, it’s real folks surviving. Thanks TJ! Loved it and can’t wait til the wind blows again.
