I loved the banter between these two and really loved seeing him break her walls down. Age be dam these two are perfect for one another. Their story is full of twists and turns and I loved every minute of it.

    • Age gap and stubborn couple
The men of Riot MC are stuck in their ways as they reach a certain age thinking they don’t need a woman to make them happy. Block meets the one woman he knows he shouldn’t want but does and she is determined not to let it get too far. When things start happening look out.

    • Good story but gets bogged down in spots
The over all story and plot was good, but it dragged in the middle. The story line of Blocks brother and sister inlaw and the dirty deeds they are up to is real good but that is only in the last few chapters. Heidis reluctance to get close to anyone due to her family and past was a good story as well but it you read the first few chapters and the last you get the whole story. The book gets bogged down in repeat and over use of sex and double talk. Double talk example, "I am to old for her and need to cute het loose, age is just a number I will never let her go." Over use of sex example, "wake up have sex, talk about how you need to hurry so your not late so no time for more sex, have shower sex, drive to work, have sex in office room, go to lunch, have sex, talk about hurrying up to get back to work, have sex, go back to work and make phone call and talk about sex, and it just keeps going on and on. About 50% of the book is like this and it bogs the story down. Several chapters you can skip and other than the over use of sex you would not miss any story. I have read all of the Riots books and the thing I liked best about this Author is that the trouble the girl brings to each book is different than the usually girl raped, or abused by ex story lines. I also like that I do not feel ripped off in buying books by this author because the book had not been proof read has so many errors you would say a grammar school kid wrought it like so many others from other authors I have bought. So I will read Tiny and have pre ordered Finn, and hope to read Mensa as well. I just hope each of them do not drag from over use of sex like this one did. ... show more

I really enjoyed this book. I'm a sucker for (most) motorcycle club stories. I think I will go back and read the earlier ones in the series.

After what was supposed to be a mutually agreed upon one night stand, Block realizes that he wants more than a one-and-done with Heidi. Convincing her of that becomes a challenge that he won't back away from. They have an openly antagonistic relationship, verbally sparring each time they run into each other, and secretly revving up their engines. When one night becomes several nights and a weekend trip AND someone seems to have it out for Heidi, puncturing her tires, Block jumps into protector mode and moves forward full speed ahead. This was a fun read, and had me learning new things like you can make candy from mashed potatoes and salamanders are a kitchen appliance! Gotta love when you can get educated while enjoying a great story! Block and Heidi have chemistry that burns off the pages and will have you cheering for them to wade through their individual baggage and make it work between them. Karen Renee has stayed true to her characters and each story is unique and well planned. Her Riot Books are a definite must read. While part of a series that has mentioned both main characters previously, Block's Road is a standalone age gap MC novel with a HEA ending. ... show more

    • Sexy, Sassy, Outstanding MC Read
Ms. Renee has given us a wonderfully written storyline about Block, the Prez of the Biloxi chapter of the Riot MC. He’s a widower and not looking for anything past one night stands. But there's something about Heidi, the bestie to a club brother’s woman. She is a sassy, smart mouth girl who is way too young for him. As for Heidi, the last thing she needs is a cocky, biker trying to control her life. So they agree to a “one and done”. But it's been two months and neither seems to be able to forget that night, especially Block. So when he shows up on her doorstep, against her better judgment, she lets him in, they agree to one more time to get things “out of their system”. But then Heidi starts getting personal threats and Block can’t let that stand, insisting that she stay with him until the situation is taken care of. From here the story takes us readers on a wild bumpy ride with two characters that are totally opposites, outwardly bad for each other but can’t seem to stop the pull between them. The banter and push and pull between our hero and heroine are outstanding. Grab this one up and hang on, you’re gonna love it. I know this reader sure did. 2 Thumbs up and 5+ Stars ... show more

I've always liked this group of MC novels but this one I ended up skimming a lot. I would calculate 65-70% was sex. Not much story and lackluster ending as the repercussions weren't very satisfying. I'm not giving up and will look forward with hope to read Tiny's story when it drops.
