I was worried about this little fan being able to move the hot air around, but it has done a great job so far. I have used it on two different heat sources, one propane heater and the other a firebox. Obviously it kicked into gear quicker sitting directly on the wood burning firebox, but even sitting above the propane heater it has done a great job. The only thing I could consider a negative, not the fan's fault, is that it seems to be very delicate. It will take me great care of this item to not destroy its blade balance. Hopefully this will be an item, in a world of more and more disposable products, I can use for a long time before having to replace it! ... show more

    • blade is a bit wonky
When the blade wobbles, one can expect the fan to have a shortened life. It still turns, but is does wobble. I did not return it; instead I contacted the the seller to let them know. They were willing to replace it for me, if I would just give them my address and phone number throough email to do so. I told them the info is avaiable through Amazon; they begged me to not deal with that, just give them my private info. I did not, so did not receive a replacement nor did I return it, as it still functions. I will NOT buy this brand again, even though the blade does function, in spiite of the unbalance... I am not interested in buying upcoming junk. I MUCH prefer well-made, well-packaged quality product, personally, and to NOT have to bypass the safety mechanisms that Amazon has in place to protect my privacy. While I enjoy a good video, its too close to Christmas and as I am feeling feeliing its rush, to need to 'prove' my dissatisfaction with a video. Even with the bent blade, it still only put out a very soft brrrr-sound, can barely hear it. Buy if you dare. ... show more

The first one I received was broken and extremely wobbly. I sent it back and they sent another one within the week. It is still cheaply made but what can you expect at the price. Would suggest to someone else with a warning if cheapness.

We have a fire burning wood stove in our living room that can heat up our house during the winter as well as during the event when we have electric outage on a cold day and night. The steel wood stove gets really hot but the radiant hot air from the stove naturally rises up to the ceiling before it can be circulated to the room so this is where this amazing fan comes in. This fan is now powered by battery or electricity but rather it uses the heat transferred from the stove top surface to convert it to energy to spin the fan blades. As the bottom of the fan gets hot, the fan blades will start spinning, naturally blowing out the hot air from the wood stove towards the front, effectively circulating the hot air around the room. Every wood stove should come with this fan. Highly recommend it if you have a wood stove in the house. ... show more

It came very well packed and protected in undamaged box yet upon unpackaging, blades displays irregular bend and noticable wobble. Even with that consideration, it is physically as I expected and reasonably well constructed... "A funtional novity" as I've seen described. But, air movement is far below what most reviews imply. I used a standard facial tissue as guage... At near middle of "optimum operating temperature" (450°F) the tissue only raised to a 45° angle from upper corners held at close upper level of the blade. Raised temperature (650°) elevated tissue only slightly more to less than a 60° incline. In comparison, my cheap rechargable fan of similar size (and only slightly higher price) will stand tissue at full 90° on low speed and tissue flutters like a flag in a wind storm on high speed. That being said, this may move some heat into your room but basically you are looking at a heat tolerant novelty item more than functional. Fortunely, the price is low compared to a good appearance. Also I wonder, why do all these fans come with exposed blades? Maybe as they get far too hot to handle, the threat of open moving blades (even at comparitively low speed) may help warn of the overall danger. ... show more
