  • A LOT of features in the portable, quiet, clean power generator!!!
Style: 2550 Watts - Dual Fuel - CO Sensor
So far, so good! really cool little generator. it's pretty quiet, starts VERY easily, has the desired output receptacles (gonna be using it primarily with a small travel trailer), "clean" power output, dual fuel is VERY desirable. Looking forward to the "acid" test with some "dry" camping in two weeks. ... show more

  • Reliable Backup Generator for Home Emergencies
Style: 2550 Watts - Gas Only
Having gone through multiple generators, including a sizeable inverter for our main house and a reused Westinghouse standard generator for our well, I was eager to find a solution to the recent power outage during Hurricane Helena. While our large generators performed admirably, a flaw emerged in my fuel-saving strategy. Despite only running the house generator for limited hours to conserve fuel and extend its lifespan, our new energy-efficient Samsung fridge struggled to maintain its temperature during the power gaps, resulting in over $700 worth of spoiled food. Enter this new backup generator, purchased specifically to address this critical gap. Setting it up was a breeze, and I appreciated thoughtful details like the convenient oil fill spout and user-friendly displays that track service intervals and fuel levels precisely. In testing it with just the fridge, the fuel consumption was a reasonable 2.1 liters for 6 hours, showcasing its efficiency. Additionally, the peace of mind knowing we have a reliable secondary power source in case of generator failure is truly invaluable. An Update on Performance: After about 20 hours of use, I encountered starting difficulties and a rough running engine. Troubleshooting led me to a simple solution of replacing the factory spark plug with a higher-quality NGK plug, instantly resolving the issue and restoring smooth operation. The generator now starts reliably with just a couple of pulls, demonstrating its dependability in times of need. ... show more

  • Quiet, light weight, propane option a must for overnight.
Style: 2550 Watts - Dual Fuel - CO Sensor
I bought this generator to support my whole house generator set up because the larger generator is louder than I would like after 10 pm. This Westinghouse generator runs a long time with propane and quiet at nighttime. Its weight is manageable for fast and easy setup. It will power my and small refrigerator and small AC unit in the bedroom and necessary items off my transfer switch while we sleep, I have dule fuel for both generators and have found this option best for my configuration. The inverter seems safer for my appliances also, The propane option is nice because it never goes bad and is good for reliability in acute emergency situations. ... show more

  • So far, so good. Too soon to fully review.
Style: 2550 Watts - Dual Fuel - CO Sensor
I just got my generator last night and am in the process of breaking it in. So I won't give 5 stars until I have used it for a month or so. I already had a Champion 2500 W gas generator, but I started having some problems with it this summer (bought it last summer). I have a hard time starting it, and I didn't like using gasoline. So I researched and then found this Westinghouse Dual Fuel generator that weighs about the same 50 lbs ish. I want to be able to use propane and only propane. It is supposed to be quieter and and propane is cleaner than gas. My goal is to never use gasoline in this Westinghouse, but it nice I have the option. First impression: Pretty good. It started up on the 2nd pull. As I said I am in the breaking in process for this generator. I wasn't able to do that properly with my Champion last summer, and I needed to get that right this time. I was a bit disappointed that the only instructions for the break in period simply said to not exceed 50% of the load capacity for the first 5 hours. Ok - am I supposed to vary that load at all? I am doing that because other research said it would be a good idea. Am I supposed run all appliances at 50% load for a straight 5 hours? Or can that load only be 10% or 20%? Is that good or bad? So Westinghouse, please add some more details to the very small section on how to break in the generator. Now I can't sit there and babysit the generator for 5 hours. But I have been checking it every 20 to 30 minutes. A couple of times now it has stopped running and I am not sure why. The first time I believe it was overload. I actually saw that. I had added in a USB power bank, hoping to charge that with the generator. It didn't like it. The other 2 times, I was not out there, but no way it would have been overloaded. So does it just stop after an hour or so?? I don't know. The 2 main things I am powering right now I don't think draw a whole lot. One is an electric 12/120v cooler. The other is a small USB powered fan, designed to be able to plug into a PC USB port. Then when I am out there, I will plug in a vacuum cleaner and run that for a bit. I also plugged in a variable speed drill and ran that at different speeds to provide different loads. But again, I am not sure what percentage of the full load this is. One thing I did like about my Champion, that this Westinghouse doesn't have, is a display telling me how many hours it has on the generator. This made it easier to track usage. My main use for this generator is to recharge my RV Lithium batteries when solar is not enough to keep them up. So I won't really be able to tell how well this does, until I use it on my next trip. ... show more

  • Exceeded my Expectations
Style: 2550 Watts - Gas Only - CO Sensor
I did extensive research on small to medium sized portable generators and selected the iGEN2550c because it had good reviews, was manufactured by a major and trusted brand, had an excellent price, had a lot of useful features, was easy to carry, had good fuel economy, and had a CO sensor. And, when I started it for the first time I was surprised about how quiet it was. Works great! This generator exceeds my expectations! ... show more

  • This little generator is "The Little Engine That Could"!
Style: 2550 Watts - Gas Only
A+++ , We purchased a new Westinghouse iGen2800 inverter generator to use when camping with our RV. This generator is literally .................... "The Little Engine That Could". Light weight, powerful, and surprisingly quiet. The digital display includes a gas gauge that comes in handy. And speaking of gas: This little generator is a gas "sipper". Under a small load it can last over 10 hrs. (and that's not too shabby). I highly recommend the Westinghouse iGen2800 to anyone looking for a great little generator at a great price. I can't mention any names, but it compares very closely to the little RED generators, but at 1/2 the price! The most bang for your buck, that's for sure! Tim & Cheryl Haas ... show more
