After a LOT of searching and recommendation from a relative, I chose this Nirvana model in its full size. It comes complete (the mattress comes separately a couple days after the frame) and is not too bad to assemble. The instructions are reasonably comprehensible. I put the thing together by myself, but it would have been easier with the recommended two people. The result is sturdy, very nice looking, and super comfortable! The boxes started to arrive a week before the delivery date. Box 1 was the back, seat, and supports. Box 2 was the arms & instructions. Box 3, the mattress. Being the impatient women that I am I wasn't waiting for help. I found it easier to build the seat, and back vertical against the wall. It will take two people to install the seat/back to the frame. It's very sturdy, and the mattress is very comfortable. Remember not to tighten the bolts that connect the supports to the arms until the back/seat is in the slots. (I read reviews relentlessly before a purchase. Please let me know if this helps you.) We Got this item for our 13 y/o and she loves it. I would say an 8 out of 10 stars... It took myself my husband and the help of our kid a good 2 hours to put this beast together. The directions are clear for the "most" part. There was some thinking involved lol but not too much. Just take your time and follow the pictures! It came with 1 allen key but my husband had extras that were the same size so we all 3 could do something.. It Still took 2 hours! The futon frame is very solid and sturdy. The queen mattress does leave a bit of a gap like some of the other reviews stated. So, I split the difference on the frame with the mattress and it's not very noticable. Maybe 2 inches on each side. Nothing pillows don't fix.. Now putting it from bed back to couch that is extra tricky!. Like the reviews stated it is not a one person job... But i told my daughter she had to figure it out... So clever. she tied scarfs to the back/top of the futon couch on each side she then stands in the middle of the bed and pulls the scarfs simultaneously as she pushes with her knees on the bottom to get it back to couch position. The mattress was shipped rolled up so i let it lay flat on the floor and then we rolled on it to flatten out the bulges from it being shipped the way it was. If it wasn't for it being so hard to transition from couch to bed i would have rated it a ten. No defects. No scratches. Arrived on time. All hardware included 3 different boxes though not 2. Had a dent in the arm that looked like it occurred during shipping. Also, one of the short legs had a metal piece set a little crooked. I requested replacement parts and heard back within less than *two hours* that they would send the parts the same day they received my message. That's great customer service and a company that cares. As for everything else, the instructions aren't difficult to follow, the frame is solid and sturdy, the mattress is comfortable, and it looks great. I bought this to use as our main couch in the family room, where we spend time with our three dogs. I picked this because I thought it would be big enough for two adults, and at least two of the three dogs, and it is wide enough. The problem is the deep "V" that is the seat. It is incredibly uncomfortable to sit on long term, and I can feel the bottom flexing even when my 50lb dog jumps up, let alone when my 250lb husband carefully sits down. This wouldn’t have lasted a week back when I had teenagers at home. I opened it up to sleep on for one night, and while it does make a queen size bed, the mattress reminded me of the old futons of my childhood in the '80's. I am also unable to fold it back into a couch on my own; it takes two people, one on each side of the couch and even then it's incredibly difficult and involves bracing with my feet to keep it from moving while trying to fold the back up and the bottom in, and get both sides latched in the divots in correct position so it doesn't fall down flat with a slight bump. I wish I could return this and get my money back. Thankfully I’m decent with building things from wood, and I will be deconstructing this, and making the seat part flat, so that my knees aren’t in my chest, and my dogs can lay on it without tumbling into the “V” of the seat mashing each other or the humans in the house. I had hoped to buy a finished piece of furniture, and not have something that looks like it was built in the garage but I wasted $700 on this, and will have to live with it for the next several years. ... show more

    • Frustrated and disappointed

We got this futon to replace an old sofa sleeper in our RV. We waited a full month as expected to get our 850.00 dollar queen futon. We got the base only and no mattress…. With the only warning being a sticker that said it would come “later”. We waited….. my 850.00 dollar futon useless without the mattress. It gave no tracking number….. just the notation on the futon set box (mattress and frame) being delivered. We had no assurance that it would be delivered nor could we track it. No “heads up” before ordering that it would be delivered separately . The futon base is relatively sturdy as expected but the 8” queen mattress is flimsy and the cover is a joke. Super thin….. I will already have to get a cover for it as it is ready to split into ribbons. I am so disappointed ☹️ and furious at this retailer. Don’t put yourself through this expensive , shoddy quality futon purchase. ... show more
