I was surprised by the hat in several ways. First off it looked good on me. Normally this style doesn't, but the design simply looks good on most people. It fit several sizes due ti the elastic band inside. It also kept sweat away from my eyes and rain off of my head. On the negative it is called a straw hat, but is really plastic so calling it a straw look would be more accurate. The only negative thing I have to say is about the packaging. It was shipped in a plastic bag (no box) and was damaged when I opened it. I was able to get most of the damage out of it and get it shaped. It doesn't matter how much a hat costs as improper packaging will damage it. This was disappointing as I can not get it to look new. It looks like I have worn in for months instead of 2 weeks. ... show more

Over the last two weeks I have ordered at least 4 hats trying to find one to fit over my hair. This was the most expensive so I assumed it would be the best quality. Boy was I wrong. This is by far the cheapest of them all. It is basically one step above plastic party hat. It arrived looking like it had been sat on and ran over. The sides were uneven and it was cracked in multiple places. The quality is very poor. The hats I paid $20 for are much better quality than this mess. It doesn’t even really look like the photos. I am beyond disappointed. The only good news is it fits, too bad it is so bent out of shape and broken it has to be returned. Worst money i have spent in a while. If i could have gave 0 stars i would. Packaging was also horrible. Even the $20 hats came with a box and some sort of protection. ... show more

I wear this hat when doing yard work here in Arkansas, which is hot and sunny most of the time in the summer, as you can imagine. Most decent cowboy hats are pricey... I'm not looking for a hat to wear to the "Cattleman's Ball", I need a working hat. This fills the bill nicely!

For the money, this is a nice hat. I purchased it for work in the summer (I'm a farmer and spend a lot of time outside). Unfortunately, it was too small; it pressed much too hard against my forehead. My noggin measures 22.5" around, which according to the sizing chart on this listing, the S/M I purchased was supposed to fit. Other than the size being off, the hat itself is nice. I loved the elastic band on the inside; would help form well around the head. It does not appear to be made of straw, or if it is, it's got some sort of plastic on the outside. Would hold up well in rain. Would be easy to clean any mud and dirt off of it. The hat brim has a bit more of a taco shape to it than I what personally like, but overall I'd say it's a good hat. ... show more
