We keep a pair of scissors in our kitchen drawer to use for a variety of purposes. The pair we’d had before had never been particularly good, and after a few years’ use the bolt that connected the two blades came undone. I knew I didn’t want to just pick up any cheap scissors I could find, since I’d never been happy with how the old pair worked. I’m a crafter so I have a few scissors that are dedicated to specific purposes. Among them is a pair of Westcott scissors I use for cutting heavier papers. I’d been impressed with their effectiveness so I decided to buy this two-pack for household use; they look different from my dedicated paper scissors so I won’t mix them up, and I was confident they would work well. We’ve had them for a while now and it’s working out great. They make it easy to break down cardboard boxes for recycling (and to open packages when they arrive): they’re nice and sharp, so I don’t have to apply a lot of pressure to cut through the shipping tape. The handles are comfortable to hold. The inside orange parts are rubbery for a good grip (there’s also a rubbery bit on the side for the index finger to get a good grip if you need it), and the outside gray parts are a harder textured plastic. The join between the blades says it is adjustable, though I haven’t had a reason to try to adjust it so far. I love that they can be used in either the right or the left hand because I’m left-handed while my husband is right-handed, so we don’t have to worry about keeping different kinds of scissors around. The texture on the blades is unusual for me, since normally they’re just smooth and shiny. I assume this is to give it the promised nonstick feature. It’s never been a big pain point for me to have things get stuck to the scissors, though I suppose occasionally it is annoying when tape from a package gets stuck to the blades. I haven’t had issues with that while using these scissors so at this point the nonstick claims hold true for me. Really happy with these so far and I’m sure I’ll look to Westcott for future needs. ... show more

I got 1 of these scissors from Target a while back but we lost them. I searched everywhere for another pair because Target didn't carry it anymore. Well I found them here in packs of 3. I immediately got them. These are very sharp and sturdy. You will like how effective they are. Also a pack of 3 is pretty good, because the family usually loses a pair once in a while. These cost a mini fortune in the store, at least for me they do because I'm always losing my scissors. I bought this 2 pack for half the price I pay for 1 pair at the store and I figured having an extra pair laying around wouldn't hurt since they keep disappearing. The only thing I would change is that the tip of the scissors have a slight curve to the left and makes free-cutting a straight line impossible, but manageable. I usually only buy this brand because the material and durability is superb, buy this particular model have been the best. It's been 4 months and I still have 1 pair left...I don't think I'll ever get to cash in on those lifetime guarantees :( ... show more

Amazingly good, especially for the price. I bought an second set of two, so I could have them at home as well as at work. Great in the kitchen for cutting open bags of chips, crackers, frozen packages, etc. Then, after one try our co-worker wanted some too. I didn't adjust them for our purposes, but the directions show how easy that is to do. I have a size large women's hands and the grip is big enough. Our co-worker has a size large men's hands and he liked them. A little larger grip area MIGHT be better, but I have no problem when I use them. Love them! They are a treat to use. ... show more

This is an unsolicited, uncompensated review for Westcott Non-Stick Scissors, Set of 3. My wife and I often use package sealing tape. It had become difficult to get a clean cut of the tape due to the tape's adhesive gumming up the blades. Tried cleaning the blades using acetone and emery boards, but this was ineffective. I found a pair of scissors in the garage with serrated edges which cut the tape clean. However, they were only a 4-inch blade length. Went to amazon to find serrated scissors, but came across this set which featured "Titanium Non-Stick" operation. Decided to order them and try them out. They cut the packaging tape clean with no drag. And what a bargain! Three sets for under 13 dollars. Highly recommend this product for their quality and value. ... show more

I’ve purchased several types of scissors and found these to be as good or better than most (including Fiskars, Scotch, etc). They are so sharp that the tip works great for opening packages. The price is reasonable for the quality of these scissors.
