Description

Wera Series 7400 Kraftform ESD adjustable torque screwdriver set is designed for torque controlled tightening to guarantee the safety of the screw connection. Torque can easily be set to the required scale value By hand without special tools. Measurement accuracy is +/- 6% in accordance with standard EN ISO 6789. Wera torque tools have unlimited loosening torque to loosen seized screws. All Wera hand tools feature the trademarked ergonomic Kraftform handle. With hard and soft zones. That fits the shape to the hand for the ultimate in comfort and high-speed torque transfer. Adjustable torque screwdrivers feature the Rapidaptor bitholder with quick-release chuck that allows for speedy one-handed bit insertion and removal for insert and power bits. I love WERA and own dozens of their products. Never once had an issue. But literally after just a handful of few light-duty uses, I went to use this and noticed no resistance. Looked a little closer, and the entire center ring was loose and cracked. Unbelievable for such a good brand and expensive product. Time to see if WERA honors their "lifetime" warranty. If they do, I'll update my post. UPDATE: WERA Honors Their Lifetime Warranty! I am updating my review to reflect the relatively hassle-free warranty service received from WERA. Aside from the fact WERA seems to make it impossible to find out HOW to request warranty service, I managed to locate the process. If you run into this issue, send an email to orders at weratools dot com with a copy of your Amazon receipt, photos and description of the issue. I had to mail my defective unit to NY and within a couple weeks, a brand new replacement was sent back provided at no charge. ... show more

I bought this to torque my turntable cartridge to the headshell of tonearm. The torque is 0.4 Nm. As I'll rarely use this tool, it's nice that you can remove the stress on the spring like you can with other adjustable torque tools. This tool will sit around for months if not years. But, when I need it to recheck or adjust my cartridge alignment, I can be sure I haven't added any memory to the spring. Setting the tool is simple and intuitive. While I think this is an extravagance for most. But if you've spend a lot of money on cartridge, incorrect torque can change the azimuth of the stylus. This is something to be avoided. I use this thing to torq down incerts. All the other machines in the shop have stripped fasteners. Mine do not. I mention this to my boss every week; he doesn't care but I do.

Specs were a little vague on this item before I ordered it. I was looking for a torque driver to go 50-60 in. lbs but this only goes to 25 in lbs I believe. Still works great to torque the lighter stuff like mounting rifle scopes and such. It's east to use, just push the front of the handle in, hold and turn handle to desired in. lb. and start torqueing away. Clicks when you reach you desired torque, no more broken screws! German quality with a great warranty, comes with factory calibration report as well. Does exactly what it should for it's intended purpose. ... show more

The screwdriver includes a calibrated measurements. Easy to use and it makes an audible snap and stops prior to over torquing. You may want to invest in long set of bits since the size of the head is large and may make it tricky to access tight spots.

I think the Capri is better than this. The feeling of rotaly slip and stripping screw aer less different than Capri. But it's better than CDI torque driver.

Bought in 2013 used briefly and gently for a project at that time then kept unused. Pulled it out from a drawer in 2018 only to discover that the plastic ring that is a part of the torque adjustment mechanism snapped by itself, now impossible to set the torque by hand. No clear instructions provided on how to contact contact customer service to claim that limited lifetime warranty. Submitted a question through the website. Wish me luck. ... show more
