This was a big hit with the 1 year old. Lots of buttons and pictures and some music as well. It is not a real 'touch screen and has no dangerous rays that may hurt little one forming eyesight. The problems I noticed were that the 'ON' button was also the 'OFF' button. So as he began to use it he found the on button and turned it on easily. But since that worked so well, he hit it again and turned it right off. Gee wiz, what's a little fellow to do? The other issue was with the volume. Every time you turn it on it is at the loudest setting, but you can turn it down by knowing hat an arrow means. But if you have just been turning it on and then off, someone smarter has to turn it down for you, and that's just no fun. There is another button that is very thoughtful for the parent who can turn the 'LED' lighting off or on, but that also resets when the child turns it off and on again.
