The toy gets great engagement from my 3 month old, the lights are just way to bright for my self and probably the child to look at. Therefore, I put some white painters tape on the light and used a craft razor to cut away the excess. The light is still bright but not hurt your eyes bright anymore. Im sure as the toy ages the light will dim and I will remove the painters tape. ... show more

I did some light researching for nice, more educational type toys for a friends one year old birthday. I found this and read good reviews both here and elsewhere so figured with the brand backing it would be a good choice. My buddy informed me that the baby really loved it and would clap, moved her head around to the noises and play with the soft padded arms. We’re on our 3rd Sloth but I have no complaints. We got the second one refurbished through FP. My child, who is now 2.5 and autistic, LOVES Sloth. He loves all Linkimals but this one is by far his fave. He’s been playing with it since 9months old. Best light/sound toys on the market !!

Sloth helps little one learn numbers, letters, etc. and have fun in the process. Other Linkimals of the same language* automatically link up when turned on at the same time. Sloth rocks his head and moves his arms, plus flashes lights and makes sounds. Volume is adjustable (high/low/power-off) by slide switch. The instructions don't explain the mystery recessed button that breaks the links (apparently a reset button). To re-link, simply turn off and turn desired Linkimals on at the (approximate) same time. Package was easy to open. Just cut tape on two flaps that hold the bottom of the cardboard package; open the bottom (save the instruction book therein); and rotate the three cams one-quarter turn counterclockwise. Sloth is free! Sloth uses 4 AA batteries. Alkaline batteries are recommended. Name-brand alkaline batteries are included and pre-installed. A Phillips head screwdriver is needed for opening the battery compartment, to prevent little one from accessing the batteries. I got the Moose and Llama, too. They link up easily. When you activate one, the others respond with lights and sounds, as well. They even sing together, sometimes. Highly recommended!
