    • Does not fit an older WEN 4214 drill press
I purchased this clamp to use on a 2014-era WEN 4214 (12") drill press. The clamp does not fit, in spite of WEN's promotional material that says "...the WEN 12-Inch Drill Press Clamp adds safety and precision to any drill press." Their promotional material does not add, "...except older WEN drill presses." I called the WEN technical help desk (B.T.W., it is nice that there is a WEN technical help desk), and the technician told me that WEN had changed its drill table design since my drill press was manufactured. While I was assured that the clamp fits on newer WEN drill presses, the clamp will not work on an older WEN drill press table without some modifications. The problem is that the slots on that older table are t-slots and are not drilled through. There is a hole in the inside-right side of the table that looks like it should be usable, but its diameter is too small to fit the bolt end of the clamp. It would appear that WEN's clamp designers were not thinking. My solution will be to drill out that hole in the table to enlarge it a bit so that the clamp's bolt will fit through it. In addition to the WEN clamp not fitting my older WEN drill press, the clamp's finish is rather poor. There are some rough spots that I'll be filing down and the clamp's screw threads do not work smoothly. The clamping head itself is rather small. To conclude: given the lack-of-fit and poor finish to the WEN 430DPC Drill Press Clamp, there must be better options available; I would not recommend this clamp, even if it did fit my WEN drill press. ... show more

    • Very big for 12" drill press
I bought two of these to use with my 12" Wen drill press. While they hold workpieces securely and are easy to use, they are too big to use practically. They are so long that they must be moved all the way out to the ends of the tracks for the clamp point to hold pieces within reach of the chuck. They also block access to the pieces once installed and make it difficult to hold a vacuum up to the drill to catch metal shavings. Also, be aware that if you clamp painted pieces, the clamp point will imprint a pattern in the paint, so use pieces of wood or rubber as a cushion. ... show more

The clamp does not work with a table made for wet drills so I added a spacer and used a 1/2" T-Slot nut. The result is a confident clamp at height extension. You can see a campher but the hold is secure. I had more alterations to the 9" version, the TPI is odd. Std 13 on this 1/2" bolt. Its an inexpensive solution that works under strain. Other clamping options are more expensive or more dangerous. Confidence in clamping is paramount. ... show more

    • Get these for your drill press
For years I struggled using C-clamps on the drill press table to anchor vises and wood block. These are sturdy and well worth the money. But if you want to make a funny video titled "Bubba uses his drill press", then don't buy them.

Clamps work brilliantly! Only problem was that I ordered the 12" and received the 6" instead (that's why I'm not rating this higher). Big difference! Anyway, replacement received eventually and they work perfectly.
