After one of my cats had surgery, her body reacted poorly to the anesthesia and she got backed up with poop from "stem to stern" and quit eating. After numerous trips to the vet for treatment and trying hundreds of dollars of different kinds of cat food, she chose this! Thanks to quality ingredients, not only does she vomit less, she poops easier too! I have an older cat who had problems with eating during a very hot summer in California. He lost so much weight and had no desire to eat. I tried this cat food and he loves it! I might not have my little buddy if it hadn't been for this cat food.

Really cannot express how much this brand of high quality cat food is! My 2 rescues are both in such better health now that I’ve made the full transition to Wellness Grain Free/Wellness Core Grain Free Brand Cat Food.. I will review all of the items as this is just one of many of them.. Wellness & Wellness Core are the most phenomenal high quality cat food company that I have ever seen, although it is simply just my opinion, to those of you who are looking to go grain free for your furry kids, I sincerely recommend this particular brand of exceptional high quality cat food.. Make sure however, that your items do say: “Grain Free..” ( as the manufacturers does have a few items that do have grain, IE: “Wellness” ) WELLNESS CORE IS COMPLETELY GRAIN FREE.. Both names are of the same manufacturing company FYI.. I had to make 100% certain & am so grateful that I did receive prompt communication via asking questions for Wellness & Wellness Core.. It does take awhile depending on what your furry babies have been eating, definitely follow the guidelines so the kitties that may have a bit of sensitivity to going grain free may give them some tummy issues.. What I have found wonderful with the transition ( now 10 months ) is that adding their dry indoor food to the wet food is much easier on their tummies..     • This Food Is Helping to Manage My Senior Cat's Diabetes

A friend and cat breeder has told me that an alarming number of cats and dogs are developing diabetes as they age. A likely cause is the wheat, corn, and rice used as fillers in commercial food. Grains are especially bad for cats because they are carnivore obligates. That means they can only digest meat. Grain just raises their blood sugar. I found out the hard way when Denny, my 18-year-old cat, lost his appetite and started losing his balance. He was walking on the flat part of his hind feet and sliding across my desk like it was a piece of ice. After a frantic trip to the vet and some expensive blood work, the vet told me Denny had diabetes. (His blood glucose was more than 500. Normal range for a cat is 80 to 120.) The vet told me where to buy a cat/dog blood glucose meter and supplies and some general instructions for testing Denny's blood sugar and giving him insulin. (There are some good YouTube videos.) The vet also recommended some different canned and dry foods that might lower his blood sugar. I felt so guilty because I'd been giving Denny lots of treats (cat junk food) and canned food with gravy, his favorite. After some experimentation, I settled on this Wellness canned food at the best food for Denny. It has some grain-free gravy and he likes the flavor. I also feed him a Wellness grain free dry food. Since I switched his diet, Denny's blood sugar has been *in the normal range all but a few days early on*. I still test and log his blood sugar every morning -- just to be sure. Also, Denny has come to expect our morning ritual. (If you ever have to test a cat's blood sugar, start by massaging the cat's ear with a warm, damp cloth for two to three minutes. The cat relaxes and the heat makes it easier to draw blood.) At his age, I don't know how much longer Denny has, but I'll try to make his life as happy and healthy as it can be. So I'll buy him this food until he stops liking it or he develops another health problem. ... show more

My cat only eats gravy and will not eat the "meat" regardless of the brand (he loves dry kibble, just not wet food). We were buying this because he liked the gravy. Only, now there isn't any gravy in this Chicken flavor. The Turkey still has gravy. He does vomit sometimes after eating it, which I didn't think too much of until I read the other reviews. ... show more
