It is well constructed and and works smoothly. It would be perfect if the top plate had just one ear so it would cup the side of the slide and fit the bottom without a buffer board.

We had an issue with a main horizontal support beam under our porch. The original builder did not place a vertical support beam where the horizontal beam meets the house. I noticed the porch was sagging and when I checked it out, the main horizontal beam was separating from the under porch rafters. I was going to use wooden beams to support, but then I found these supports. They worked great, easily sizable , easy to install and I was able to crank these tight to support the beam.
