Those four fingers are really great for pulling up fibrous root weeds. Prickly lettuce, thistles, plantains are especially susceptible to this type of weeder. Not so great for tap root weeds like dandelions, but I have another weeder for those.

This work really well to remove deep rooted violets that I did not want invading near my perennials or shrubs. The roots are as long as 6 inches so impossible to remove by pulling.

Works great IF the soil is soft such as after a recent rain. Does not work well at all if the soil is rock hard. I had some of both in my garden and was afraid to get aggressive with the very hard soil. Ended up using a dandelion digger instead which defeated this purchase.

Granted, this isn't for every weed and there's still work involved but it works REALLY well! I have vines with thorns that have extensive root systems with bulbs & this tool really makes a positive difference in pulling them up. I don't get them all & sometimes the tool breaks the vine but it is SO much better then trying to dig the root system out and find the bulbs of the roots. Would buy this product again and again!!
