It seemed like it would be a great product with great reviews. Purchased it to use in our livestock water during the winter. After 24 hours being in the water I noticed what looked like rusting around the entrance of the power cord… it’s worked to keep the water warm but had to toss eventually because it started to electrocute the crap out of my hands when I grabbed it. The water didn’t electrocute me when I touched it but if you touch the black base of the heater it will.. definitely don’t feel safe using this for drinking water. Not sure if I got a faulty product but very disappointed with this and wish I could get my money back or a better product. ... show more

We're located in Central Texas, so only get freezing weather a few times a year, but this winter we got hit with a hard freeze that was freezing water on the ground in a few minutes as it rolled in, and ended up causing some faucet damage on one that someone had left uncovered and not dripping! When I eventually went to install this heater, expecting the tub in my cattle stall to be frozen over, it turned out it wasn't and never did freeze. Apparently the cows were still drinking fast enough to keep warmer fresh water flowing in from the auto-fill so I never really got a good test of this unit this year. We'll have to wait for the next big freeze to see how well it really works. ... show more
