I received this product yesterday and it came sealed with an exterior sticker and a pull tab on the jar. It states that it doesn’t need to be refrigerated, but considering it’s not pasteurized, I’m not so sure it won’t go bad, which for the $20 it usually costs would be a waste if you’re only going to use this honey sparingly; if you’re using it daily, I don’t see it lasting more than a few weeks because it’s only 8oz. As for the product itself, it’s a cloudy/milky yellow color that Manuka honey is known for having. The taste, however, is not like anything I expected: Sweet, yet herbal/medicinal—it almost tastes like mint or menthol. Apparently, this is how it typically tastes. I noticed after eating it, though, I did have a tingling sensation in my throat—the type you get when you have an allergy. It eventually subsided, but it might be because of how raw this honey is and pollination. Unfortunately, I have really bad seasonal allergies in the spring. I will continue to monitor my reaction to this honey and see if it helps with some health issues I’ve been having. Update: I used some in the summer with no issues, so it may have just been my immune system being in overdrive in the spring that caused the initial reaction. I got this honey cause I want to make honey balmy for boosting my immune system and this was the perfect ingredient. Manuka honey is full of immune boosting properties and that is the biggest reason why I got it and it is true to its name. It was thick and creamy, and was perfect with the fresh turmeric and ginger, lemon and black pepper that I used. It worked wonderful and when I came home from a trip I wasn’t feeling good I knew I had caught something from my friends husband who came home from a week weekend long wedding sick. It really help me bounce back quicker than I normally would have. I have a lot of auto immune issues and I was thrilled. That I could get out of that funk real quick. I take care of my neighbor and she does not need to feel bad. In fact, she sounds like she had a cold today and I gave her a dose of her her honey balm. Of course, she thinks it taste like dirt because anything healthy to her taste like dirt. LOL C’EST LA VIE ... show more

If you have used the Manuka honey from Trader Joes, this is almost the same thing. Same flavor and packaging. If you have not, then it tastes like average Manuka honey should taste with is a medicinal taste because it has been used in many over the counter medications. It's not a honey you use for pleasure, mostly for its benefits. It's good enough, nothing special and nothing bad either. ... show more
