  • The Best Electric Outdoor Grill on the Market.
Style: Grill
Excellent Quality and Exceptional cooking ability from an electric grill. Good bye propane! Wanted to grill on my second floor deck, just outside the kitchen and this was the answer. I was concerned weather it would heat up to high temperature enough to sear steak. Well all my worries are gone. This will sear any meat and then some. Key is to heat the grill 20 mins to 30 mins before use and cook with the lid down. Even when you lift up the grill lid it might lose 10 to 20 degrees or so, but after closing it goes back up rather quickly. I keep the temperature setting on max. I've hooked up a remote temperature gauge and when heated for 30 mins it can get up to 540 degrees. I have always preferred a steak on a cast iron pan. Not only does cast iron steak taste better, it keeps the grill clean. Guess what, I've been cooking my steaks in the cast iron pan inside this electric Weber. Just insert your cast iron at the start of heating and away you go. I'm truly pleased with this electric Grill and highly recommend it. Your getting a Weber, which is Quality and " It Works". I also recommend getting the Weber add on's: Q Mobile Cart, Q full cover, Q side shelves. 9/21/2019 OK, Purchased June 2018 and now the grill will not get higher than 420 deg after 40 mins trying to heat. Let's see if I am contacted. Don't know how to contact Weber. 10/06/19 Weber Came through!! Excellent customer service. Emailed Weber via there website. Was contacted withing 24 hours with a checklist to go through. Did what customer serviced asked. Weber determined that the Heating element and the controller needed to be replaced. Weber shipped me out the replacement parts with easy instructions within days. Fantastic! My Weber Q2400 is backup and running at max 540 degrees. Can't beat the Weber! ... show more

  • Better than my Char-Broil Bistro
Style: Grill
Like other condo dwellers, I am restricted to an electric BBQ if I want to BBQ on my patio deck. I had been using the Char-Broil TRU-Infrared Patio Bistro Electric Grill for the last 5 years and in all fairness it had held up pretty well and did an OK job. It finally got to the point that I needed a new one. I had always been disappointed that it took a long time to heat up, and that it would lose temperature very quickly when you opened the lid. It was also slow, taking 4-5 minutes per side for medium rare hamburgs which would have minimal charring. After reading the reviews, I thought I would try this Weber. It did not disappoint. It heated up quickly (15-20 minutes), and held its heat much better than the Char-Broil. With 1.5" steaks, I normally used 8 minutes per side to get medium rare. Using 7 minutes per side with the Weber resulted in medium-well, well-charred steaks. Next time I will try 5-6 minutes per side. Why only 4 stars? For some reason,Weber elected to exclude a thermometer. Very annoying. I was able to remove the thermometer from the Char-Broil and install it on the Weber. See picture. The smoke in the picture is because I was using a smoker box laid on top of the grill plate. Worked great. ... show more

  • A convincingly good product for this skeptic.
Style: Grill
We recently moved to a high rise condo than bans propane and charcoal grilling on the veranda. The purchase of the Q 2400 felt like a forced/least preferable option to comply with fire and HOA regulations. Even reading the positive reviews, I was skeptical to say the least. After using the grill for two weeks, I have to reluctantly admit to being impressed. As other reviewers have stated, you need to allow 15-20 minutes for the grill to warm to cooking temperature. (Places it between charcoal and propane in terms of time period from ignition to grilling.) I found that the grill cooks evenly, and the end product tasted surprisingly good. You are able to get a decent char" on chicken, steaks, and veggies. The heat seems to be even at all points on the grill surface. And one feature I know is a plus - is not running out of propane in the middle of a grilling session. (Although I know propane and charcoal hold the advantage for cooking during power outages.) Construction is solid, including heavy porcelain coated cast iron grates that retain heat for searing. I purchased the Weber 6557 Q Portable Cart. I preferred this cart over the Webber 6525 Q Cart since the 6557 folds easily for storage if you have a grilling off season. The Q 2400 fits the bill nicely if you want to grill in a propane/charcoal free zone, and I would say even competes with propane for its ability to grill tasty meats and veggies. It has been a surprisingly good purchase. In summary, given the price, ease of use, quality, and grilling results, ... show more

  • I'm a pretty experienced BIg Green Egg and Weber charcoal griller
Style: Grill
I'm a pretty experienced BIg Green Egg and Weber charcoal griller. I have always wanted an electric grill for "no fire allowed" environments. This grill really comes close to charcoal performance when searing meat. As reviewed by others ....it does get very hot for the initial searing. I filled the grill surface with 12 boneless chicken breasts halves, Kicken Chicken seasoning after letting it heat up on max heat for 20 mins. Seared beautifully and continued for a total 25 min cook. It was great! This is headed to my airplane hangar to cook on weekends with fellow pilots ---where open flames are prohibited. I could not find an electric grill with better heat specs. This will leave a Foreman grill in the dust. Quality cast iron grates. Have not slow cooked on this yet. ... show more

  • Don't Miss Charcoal or Propane Gas
Style: Grill
I have cooked with charcoal grills and propane grills, with Weber products and non-Weber products. I am currently living in an area where 'open-flame' grills are not permitted, so decided to see how a Weber's electric grill would work. It is GREAT! Follow the directions to let it warm up for 20 minutes before cooking and you will be good to go. Meat chars very well, tastes great. One outstanding quality of the grill is that it is more consistent in terms of heat produced than a flamed grill, so you can get your timing down literally to the minute for many things you grill repeatedly. Terrific product. ... show more
