This is an essential part if you have the Trager 780. If you don't have one you need to get one. IMHO, Traeger should include this with the grill for the price. If for nothing else as a safety feature. Also the need a way to attach some tool hooks, which also should have been included.

We ordered this for our new Traeger smoker , It works great, but was a pain to put on. The screws on our smoker was stripped out so the screws were difficult to loosen. But overall it’s very nice to have this on the smoker. We bought it already Assembled .

Bought this used. I believe it was a return. It was delivered box was shredded, missing screws. The shelf itself was not damaged amazingly. I ask Amazon for replacement screws I was referred to Traeger support. Traeger wasn't even the seller. I will say the customer service at traeger was great. The rep was friendly and helpful. He had to set up a traeger account profile for me, and shipped new screws. It was an easy install when you have all the parts. Next time I buy any accessories for my Traeger grill, I will buy directly from traeger and skip Amazon completely. ... show more
