I used a friend's version of this prior to getting my own. I was put in charge of grilling the meat for his birthday. I was handed 3 - 2+" Filet mignon, an 18" long salmon filet, and this dudad. I had never done this cut of beef at this size, followed by salmon, let alone using someone elses grill, or used this new device. A quick review of cooking beef of this size online, and knowing the beef would take longer, I started with them after the heat in the grill was correct. I set up the cook temp and time based on the easy doneness selections provided in the free downloadable app on my phone. Once the beef was done I quickly did the salmon while the beef rested. Very easy to use app and everyone stated the meats were perfect. This thing is a homerun for me and can't wait to use it again. A few lessons learned: Some quick Google-fu of seeing what suggested times, temperature, and direct/indirect heat source helped my confidence with this and any cook. Ensuring the probe is put in an average thickness of meet during cook was crucial to attain desired doneness selected. Insert probe horizontally and so it doesn't hit the grill grate below the meat (especially on thinner cuts) so as not to throw off the temp reading (false temp leads to a shorter and improper cook).

Got this as a Christmas present and like it so much I bought it for someone else. Makes med rare steaks so easy. Only thing is the probe it came with busted within like 2 uses. They can’t take the heat they’re supposed to. Bought a 3 pack of cheap replacements (not the weber brand) and still haven’t had one of them die on me 8 months later.

The Bluetooth compatibility is great. Makes grilling a breeze. You don’t need to constantly babysit whatever you are grilling/smoking. The temperature appears accurate and the magnetic backside makes it easy to place on the grill/smoker.

When the thermometer was connected, it did a good job. But the range is no where even close to what it states, and it will not reconnect once the connection is lost without a bunch of messing around with it. Sent it back and bought one from Thermoworks.

Had waited to long to get this. No more opening our Treager, waiting for it to warm back up 5 minutes then repeating the dumb process. (added 15 minutes to done time) Shove probe in to product horizontally for easier food flip. Have tongs, glove or hot pad ready or OUCH! #*/]@D!

Got this as a stocking stuffer for my husband last Christmas, he was excited to get it as he loves his Weber grill and uses it all year. While it keeps temp good if my husband comes too far inside the house it starts making noise because apparently he is out of range. He doesn't use it very often for this reason. Don't plan on traveling too far away from it.

We grilled beer can chicken and idea of not having keep checking the temperature was great. We grilled 2 whole chickens and cut up one to freeze....the meat on the chicken when defrosted was tender and juicey, I beleive because I used the temperature and remove it on time....it was cook to perfection.
