First of all, excellent brand and the ONE that Mark Cerny himself recommends for PS5! So you're in the right place, but... Which size should you go with? Well, as you can see by the title, I suggest it should be the 4TB version. Why? Well, even though you could spend less and get less... but why oh why would you want to fill up 1 or 2 TB and then have to switch it out again? This is not plug and play, here. This is not Xbox Series. Although the process is easy for installation, it is not memory card easy. This is something you want to spend a little more to get more and then not worry about running out of storage anymore. You should allow yourself to game with confidence knowing that you have tons of storage space to grab whatever games you want and no worries of deleting games to make room for others. If you're gonna cheap out on storage, do that with Xbox, perhaps, since it's way too easy to change out. With PS5, you just want to set it and forget it. And did I mention the speed of this thing? Transferring games from the PS5 internal storage to M.2 took about 2 mins for well over 250GB. And the 60FPS games I played still ran silky smooth off of this SSD! No moving games around, either, because this thing has excellent storage and performance! The #1 SSD for PS5! Look no further, this is what you want! ... show more

I bought this for me ps5 after spending almost a week looking at all the options and debating weather this one or their slightly more expensive "ps5 official" one would be better I ended up going with this one and I do not regret it. There is no reason to get the "ps5 official" one unless it is on sale for cheaper than this one. This one works perfectly and you get faster speeds with this one as opposed to the "ps5 official" one. Once I got it in it took be less then 10 minutes to install and I was good to go. I definitely think that this one loads faster than the one that comes in the ps5 as well. The included heatsink was also a huge bonus. So whether this is for your ps5 or whatever other console or device this is for I highly recommend this one when it comes to ssd western digital is the king. I definitely recommend waiting if it is not on sale though from what I can tell they are on sale a lot so if it is not on sale wait I bought mine for $179.99. Installed in Alienware Aurora R11 desktop. The SSD M2 1 TB hard drive with heatsink installed into my Gen 3 old slot (no heat sink) with no issues other than the screw. Disk write/read speed before and after showed no change and was limited to ~ 3500. Regardless, I needed more storage capacity. The main problem I encountered was the very tiny screw which secures the M2 SSD. Just about impossible to screw back in - I actually have lost mine somewhere in the motherboard area. The SSD is still working at about a 45 degree angle though. If anyone has a spare M2 SSD screw please send it my way! Update: Purchased a M2 Screw kit on Amazon. Comes with small magnetic screwdriver. Recommend a small magnetic screwdriver to put the screw back in. ... show more

Aside from the price I paid, this is amazing. Overall I'd give it 5 stars. It adds enough storage to my PS5 that I don't have to constantly delete and re-download stuff. It's one of the easiest installs I've ever done also. You simply pop off the faceplate of the PS5, unscrew the cover to the SSD slot, pop the SSD in place, screw it down to hold it in place, replace the SSD cover and screw it back into place as well, then replace the faceplate on the PS5 and then turn on the system and format the SSD and you're good to go. Takes all of 5 minutes to do. I give this item 5 stars on everything except the price. ... show more

And I thought going from HDD to SSD was insane, but moving from my "budget" SSD to a high quality NVMe made such significant differences that it quickly became the best recent purchase I made for my PC. My OS boots lightning fast, my games launch fast and load quick and it's left me with more than enough storage that I won't ever get passed 70% capacity used. This Memory card is as critical as the PS5 if you have more than 10 games in your library. I was constantly deleting games to make room for more after I got the PS5 Plus subscription. Now, I have 20+ games in memory and still have over 1 T Byte left. I used the SN850X NVMe as my primary memory device and it feels faster than the PS5 built in SSD. Installation of the SN850X NVMe and the PS5 OS detect and copy was incredibly fast. Less than 1 hour to install, detect, format and copy my existing 10 games. This is currently the fasted nvme storage on the market, and is one of the only companies I've found making the 4tb option. After formatting, I have about 3.7 tb of storage to work with. The read and write speeds were not a lie, this thing is fast. However with it's high speeds comes high temps, If you do not have useable heat syncs on your motherboard, consider getting a pcie nvme kit with heat syncs to help maintain the life of your drive. These M.2 drives are quite impressive. They are about the size of a a high speed flash drive and a so easy to install. Boot up just takes a couple of seconds and game loads are lightning fast. The only complaint I have is more of a problem with my mother board choices as opposed to this. I went with the drive with the heatsink built into it but the mother board I got has a cool, lighted heat sink that I have to leave off since it does not fit well over this drive. I a fully aware that is a me problem, I just mention that, in case anyone is looking for a drive to add to their mobo that already has a heat sink available. ... show more
