Love the feel and the extra sound canceling but i left them behind my tv and they were hot and i looked at the bottom of the leather and it looked shiny do these things leak the gel if they got too hot? Idk if the shiny residue is just a manufacturing imperfection but please get back to me

I’ll start by saying I literally just got my A50’s gen 4 for Xbox not even a week ago. Had 2 pairs of A40’s since the Xbox one, so I’m a big fan of them, came from turtle beach before. The factory ear cups are great, they don’t get hot necessarily, just kinda stay warm, but you never sweat wearing them. I like the fact that these have the leather outer and inner, less chance of it the fibers getting frayed over time like the stock. I bought them with the intent to try out the cooling factor of course but mainly to keep my stock ones in mint condition as a back up. First thing I noticed is they are definitely heavier than the others, i personally enjoy that, makes for a tighter fit, and the best part I’d say is it makes it almost twice as noise canceling for outside sounds. Now the sound is the main part of course, it does change it definitely. I’ve seen people say they don’t like it because it sounds muffled, the thing is, it creates a much better seal between the cup and your head, therefore; less sound dispersion, which causes a tremendous increase of bass. I’ve not been too pleased with the sound depth of the A50’s after coming from the A40’s with optical, but through a lot of tweaking the EQ on not only the Astro command center, but the Dolby access app as well, since it comes with Dolby Atmos, you can get is sounding very good for a wireless headset. Again I’m a fan of the bass so it sounds great to me, if it sounds muffled you may need to turn your bass down. I still use the optical cable with my base although I didn’t see a world of difference when I plugged it in like I did for the A40 mixamp. For anyone willing to go down this path, GadgetryTech has a perfect walkthrough of the EQ profiles for this specific earcup on YouTube, even used his code. The cooling factor is noticeable but not after too long I’d say, just take em off for a bit to charge and they will be cool again however. Overall, they do exactly what I bought them for so I can put 5 stars happily, we’ll see after the first week or so of use.

First things first — these look awesome. The retro 90's design against the black and red A50s is a total upgrade to the appearance of the headset. Installation is super simple thanks to the magnetic design — just pop them on and off, no fuss at all. Comfort-wise, they’re solid. Soft on the ears with decent noise canceling. That said, there is some sound leakage. It was noticeable enough that during a party chat, a friend picked up an echo caused by the sound escaping. A quick audio adjustment fixed it, but worth mentioning. As for the “cooling” feature? I didn’t notice much of a difference compared to the standard OEM pads. My ears felt warm, though not uncomfortably so — just not the cooling effect the product seems to suggest. Still, if you're going for a unique, custom look, these are worth it. I like them enough that I plan to buy the matching headrest to complete the setup.

These are the type of earpads that should already be included with the expensive A50s. Its thickness and material adds a lot to the comfort. For thick earpads, I was disappointed that it didn't have nearly enough sound isolation as I'd like. Also, I was having trouble charging my headset on the dock and I found out it's because the cushions are too thick and the headset is not able to be placed correctly on the charging sites. Very annoying to experience. Expensive earpads. Should be $20 max.
