I ordered this for travel purposes when my full-size one died. While the heating service is much smaller, it seems to be fine for my fairly short hair, and I find I’m using it daily at home. I’ve had it about 2 weeks, and, it seems very promising for my upcoming European trip in terms of smaller size, lighter weight, and voltage issues. While the temperature can’t be controlled, I haven’t found that a problem. It certainly gets hot enough for my needs. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because the exterior near the tip does get quite hot—too hot to hold. However, I find it doesn’t interfere with styling if you hold it toward the back, and, because of the smaller size, this seems to happen naturally. So far, so good. I purchased some heat resistant styling gloves and that solved the heat issue! I am impressed at how well it works. I like to use flat irons to curl my hair and it works great! Because of it's small size, it does take some figuring out how to maneuver it. Took it on an international trip and just used an adapter in the outlet and it still worked great!
