Purchased this as Floridians who vacation for two weeks along the east coast of Florida near Cocoa Beach. Every year we rent a board from Ron Jon’s. We pulled the trigger and purchased this surfboard after shopping around and are very happy with the quality as well as the aesthetic it gives my daughters bedroom. Ok. Fast backstory. I’m a lifelong skater. I’m mid 30s and don’t recall a time I didn’t skate. So skating feels like walking to me. Popping stairs, hitting rails, carving whatever outside of vert lol. So balance is great. Went to Hawaii and wife got me a surf class. Was put on a 9’ rode it well enough instructor said “you are doing so well let’s switch” put me on his 8’. I was doing good on that. So I bought the 8’ wavestorm to start my journey. As it is summer in north fl the first chance of catching waves at a time I was off was yesterday morning. Nothing big 1-2’ florida summer mush but had a ball. What I’m trying to get at is this board is extremely easy to catch waves and balance. But if you have a lifetime of board sports and aren’t rotund I recommend the 7’ model. Backstory to help you evaluate what is BEST FOR YOU Skated almost every day of my life Spent most summers growing up on a wakeboard or skimboard This is only posted in hopes y’all guys have a good comparison to know what will be best for you and your level of ability at least balance wise or whatever.
