I used it for decoration, made an outside shower mounted on the wall. The surfboard looked good, I was amazed for the price. I cut into it to install my shower valve, there are reinforcement within the foam. The board is soft on top with a solid bottom.

This is our second purchase of a wavestorm surfboard. I have taught my 11-year old to surf on these and they are buoyant enough that they can stand with ease. It is fun for adults as well because you don't need a ton of balance to stabilize it to be able to learn the basics of surfing. Will likely buy a 3rd one at some point soon. Only one issue is to make sure you wear a rash guard or shirt cause your belly will get chafed... almost all the anti-slip soft tops are like that, but it's not a huge deal. ... show more

I started surfing a year ago on an 8ft Wavestorm, but decided to make the switch to the 7ft. Bring about 130lbs, the 7ft hits a better spot for me in terms of length and volume, while also offering a bit more maneuverability than the 8ft. While I can feel the difference between this board and a 7ft fiberglass performance board, the price point of this board makes up for it. Good board but one thing I should note those pimples on traction pad is like sandpapper if you tall enough to have you knees on the pad watch out for abrasions. Also since it's mostly styrofoam be careful with nose and tail while you transporting or (like I do) practice in pool. Even leash is not bad however you can get a bit better for about $20 ... show more

    • Good for beginners but not as easy as the 8ft version

This board is great for a fun day on some chill waves, but is a little harder to paddle than the 8ft version. But once you are up, it is more maneuverable and playful. Would be great for smaller beginners or people who just want a chill board with no fuss that they don't have to baby.
