I am 205 pounds and have a herniated disk in my lower back. This board is great because it provides a stable platform for pop ups. It handles 1-6 foot waves very well and is forgiving for a beginner. Bought a 9ft it's a nice board but when i stood up to ride it would sink it. And forget about sitting on it waiting for a set, not happening
