The Charleston Chirp bedding collection is a perfect example of Waverly's old- world tradition, classic styling, and clean, contemporary fashion. The bedding design features branches of roses, tulips and dianthus, with beautifully placed wrens accented in a gentle palette of papaya, sage green, orange rust, eggshell blue and lavender on a soft vanilla ground. The all-over nature print is further enhanced by vertical stitched quilting and finished with a coordinating self-piping decorative trim to match the stripe reverse. Versatile, stripe to floral reversible quilt allows you to change your look in seconds for the perfect bedroom retreat. The king size fits a queen beautifully with plenty of coverage on each side. I love that it is 100% cotton. It looks beautiful on the bed and a nice beginner layer in the winter. I fully anticipated this quilt set to be magnificent and it was. When it arrived today I was so excited. I love the colors which aren't over the top loud and it's subtle design and striped bed skirt look amazing. Although it seems more lightweight than I thought it would be, I am not disappointed. I live in Florida and we don't have long cold winters. I had originally purchased a $300.00 Croscill comforter set and when it arrived I almost cried. For that price I was very disappointed in the color and the quality. So I promptly returned it and ordered this set. And I am so happy I did. Another fact worth mentioning was the excellent service I always get from Amazon orders. My original purchase was credited to my account within a day. And I didn't have to pay shipping to send it back. And this set came within two days. I love that Amazon sends updates on my purchases. I give this quilt set a five star rating and will definitely recommend it to others. This color scheme goes with just about any décor. Beautifully made and exquisite details. I actually bought this quilt for the stripes. I have my queen bed in the upper right corner from the door. It is against two walls which may seem unusual but I wanted more room for the rest of the room for chairs and rugs etc. I am the only inhabitant of this bed so having it against the wall does that for me. That having been said, I wanted the stripes to give the illusion of length. However, my stripes go sideways in other words along the width not the length. If I arrange the stripes going the length of my bed the quilt doesn't fit properly. I got a king on the advice of other reviewers, but I wonder if they were fitting their quilts according to the stripes and the stripes are going the wrong way like mine. I think the queen size would have worked if I had done the stripes along the width instead of the length. But then that would have defeated the purpose. So I ultimately could not use it for the stripes. I'm not one who returns stuff because it's a pain out here in the country. So I turned it over and am using the Cloisonne design instead. And I am coming to love the design. It's really very pretty. But don't let your monitor fool you. There is really NO RED on the whole thing. Just a darker rust. Well right in the very middle of some of the flowers is a maroonish, but it's not enough to be really comfortable using red sheets or tablecloths. It's a beautiful design, but think rust. Get rust sheets or maybe butterscotchy colors. I bought red. Mistake. I will make do because I don't send things back, but as a warning it's not red really. The stripe is a maroon color but if your stripe goes the wrong way that won't help you. The quilt is light weight which is great for me. I didn't wake up too hot. It's February, but I live in the south and we use heaters like the rest of the country. We don't need really heavy quilts because our houses are warm. It's cotton which allows it to breathe, but may shrink. I don't actually wash my quilts very often. Which I guess is another reason to get a larger king instead of queen. Of course with a king the shams and bed skirt don't work either. I had to stuff extra linens in the king shams that I will leave on pillows I don't actually sleep on. I would need to have the bed skirt taken in. So all in all a good solid 4 stars. ... show more

I just received my quilt set and unpacked it and put it right on my king bed. It's beautiful and the colors are exactly what I wanted. The background is a creamy color and the flowers are a rust color, not bright red. The sage and blues are in there too but very little. My walls are painted the same as the background. The shams are generous in size to fit my king sized pillows. I still have to iron the bed skirt but the quilt itself just needed a little hand smoothing out and it looks perfect. It's a good size and fits well over the sides of the bed reaching beyond the mattress, it would work for a big pillow top mattress I think. The quilt is just the right weight since I have a comforter under it in the winter but it will be perfect without the comforter in the summer when it's warm and we have the a/c running. I'm totally pleased with this purchase and would recommend anyone that wants to give their bedroom a cheerful sunny lift to buy it. My only regret is that it didn't arrive sooner! It was eleven days to delivery. So, if you want it in time for Christmas, I would say to order it soon. ... show more

This is perfect for my queen sized bed with a deep pocket mattress. It is stitched every inch or so. When you wash it it doesn’t bunch up. Washin cold water and dry on the delicate cycle.
