The product itself works great, the little hose that comes with it? Not to much LOL! Just throw the little hose away and attach sprayer directly to this unit I have extremely hard water and this honestly made drying my car that much easier. Im sure if I didnt dry it I would have water spots regardless. Water leaves spots, period. But today I wasn't in a rush as per usual to get my car dried off immediately, I took my time and my car came out beautifully. I recommend this product100% but you do need to dry your car off for maximum results

The short bib hose is worthless. Leaks at all connection. The filter is great, both of my black vehicles look good and are spot free.

Do not buy!! Junk! Leaves more spots than without it. Only used one partial time...leaks at all fittings. Yes I put my water at the lowest setting, just barely cracked the spigot. I have a well and this does NOT do it. Better off with an RV camper filter. I put a used one of those and it is better than this POS.

2.5 stars is probably appropriate. There are two parts to this softener. The softener filter and the adapter. While you don't need the adapter, it is included so I'll rate each part. The softener seems to work fine. No complaints or concerns there. The adapter on the other hand leaked like a seive. The copper clamps holding the ends on, were not tight and lead to water flying out of every part of the hose. I had to scrap that part and just directly hook up the filter to the hose fitting. It wasn't the end of the world because I had the clearance, but just be cautious if you don't have room and need the adapter to make it fit in your application.

Years ago, my parents surprised me by buying me a Mr. Clean AutoDry kit. It came with the water gun, soap and a couple of filters. I used that set up for about 10 years before randomly shelving it. One day I broke it out, saw I was out of filters, went to buy more..... and discovered the product line was discontinued. I refuse to pay scalpers that are selling filters for the water gun, so I got rid of the kit, to the dismay of myself and my family members, who all used to have me wash their vehicles for them. As the years have gone by, we just go to the car wash. However, with my father finishing work on his freshly restored 1968 Z/28 Chevrolet Camaro and driving it around, we again have a need for a lower pressure water cleaning method for the car as he rightfully refuses to hit the car with a high pressure washer or take it through an automated car wash. This inline filter seemed the best avenue to go on, as the Mr. Clean AutoDry line shows no sign of revival. And I am very pleased to announce that this filter works ALMOST as well as the AutoDry gun did! Recently, due to some garage work, I had to leave my car, a 2011 Mazda3, parked outside. A brief, heavy rainstorm left my car completely covered in hard water spots. So I connected this filter to the hose tap, connected a hose to the other end of the filter, and literally just rinsed my car off. No soap, no wipedown, no drying, save for a short drive afterwards. This cleaned most of the water spotting off my car. Some spotting remains, but given I didn't use soap or wipe the car down, I was impressed. Encouraged by this, my father rolled the Camaro out. The car's front end was plastered with insect remains and he wanted to wax the paint. With my father rinsing, soaping, wiping and re-rinsing and me drying, we were able to get his Camaro (which is painted black!) very well cleaned up, with only a few very slight hard water drop stains on the paint. Waxing and polishing easily removed the spots. A crucial detail I forgot to discuss is water hardness. It may just be where we live, but our garden tap water is VERY hard, to the point drinking from a hose is discouraged. In the days of using my Mr. Clean AutoDry gun, one filter would last one to three washes, depending on the size of vehicle I washed and how dirty the vehicle was. So for this filter to remove so much of the minerals and other particles from the water is very impressive, and my father and I are very pleased with the results on our respective cars. So, that's one feature that I can't comment on...yet. I don't know how long this filter will last, given the hardness of our water. And as water conservation is being enforced where I live right now, my father and I will likely limit the use of garden tap water to watering the lawn, and with this filter, for only washing his Camaro when needed. However, unless the filter gives up the ghost very soon, I'll gladly buy another one when this one is used up.

I live in an area with fairly soft water such that I have been using this product for a year and it still works as new. I probably average using it once a week with the mist setting on my nozzle and I have seen no degradation in it's effectiveness. I highly recommend this product. However, the included flexible extension should be removed from the shipping package and immediately thrown in the trash. Go get a six-inch flexible hose extension from ACE Hardware.

I bought two filters. Filter results: the hardness of the water out of my hose was 176 ppm. The 1st filter when new provided 10 ppm. After two uses the water through the filter tested at 29 ppm and the car was covered in water spots. The spots ended up etched in the paint. Waterspot remover didn’t work. I had to buy polish and use an orbital polisher to remove the spots. A lot of effort and extra cost for something that was supposed improve my results and make my car washing easier After 4 washes the filter was 34 ppm. The 2nd filter tested at 13 ppm. I haven’t used it yet, but these filter appear to only work for one spotless wash. Then you have to dry the vehicle or you end up with spots. Seems to defeat the purpose.
