True to Size. The sole is soft yet supportive. I bought these for my 15 year old son. He says they feel really good. He spent a 6 hour day in the heat working a tree job a couple days after he got the boots. His feet didn’t hurt at all. I say he broke them in good! Value is great. I was able to purchase on sale. This is a handsome pair of boots! The listed photos, while quite accurate, are unable to provide the texture & aroma they have as well as how they feel when first worn. I was greeted with a fresh, clean aroma upon opening the well-protected box. Padding around the ankle & foot was generous — just right. Many might comment that they don't need a break-in period, & they mostly don't. However, there are those little indentations one's feet make in footwear that make the items truly theirs! It'll probably take a few days for those to develop — not a problem at all. Support seems very good which was a swell surprise considering how lightweight these are. Traction from the soles' pattern is excellent. I DO have one recommendation though: the laces were barely long enough when using the top two wrap-around grips. If you prefer to double your bow knot, forget it as mine came with only 58-inch laces. The laces seemed to be good quality, but they really were barely long enough to tie. 64-inch laces would work, but I replaced the provided laces with 72-inch laces. They were ideal for making a double bow. Why the big deal about a double-bow? Round laces tend to loosen & require re-tying, & I cinch them rather snugly! A double bow, eliminates that. Otherwise, they're well-priced quality boots. If necessary, I'll amend this review after wearing them for a few weeks.

Overall, this is a pretty solid shoe. They’re fairly durable and a bit comfortable. However, my biggest inconvenience with them is definitely the weight. This is a very heavy shoe that makes hiking and walking a bit more tiring. It’s also not completely waterproof, it’s more water “resistant”.
