I ordered a yard of this material to try it out before ordering enough to cover six outdoor cushions. Upon arrival I measured material and it was exactly as described on Amazon. The material is 58”x36”, most outdoor fabric is 54” wide. The army green color was as pictured. It is a canvas material so it is dense and somewhat stiff. I placed the material outside for 7 days in very hot, long southern summer days and saw no fading to the fabric. There were several brief showers during this time and fabric was definitely very water resistant to almost waterproof. I also tried staining the fabric with grape juice and oil and both wiped off without staining. I have bought and used Sunbrella fabric in the past but this is much more economical. It is stiffer than some outdoor fabric which is to be expected with canvas material. I have found that the key to sewing good cushions for outdoors is to make sure you use thread that is meant for this purpose. I did some stitching on my sewing machine and it did OK, but I went slow and was very careful. I plan to order more of this material to finish my project.

This fabric is true to the size they promised both in width and length. The canvas is very stiff and rough in texture like typical canvas material but more rigid due to the waterproofing on the back. I would call this fabric water resistant, not water proof. If a spill occurs, the water pools on the surface, but if they fabric gets saturated with water, it will start to seep through to the underside. I would use this fabric for something that may get wet but not stay wet. So my plans to use it outdoors is no longer feasible. I will make a tote bag out of it instead. The color is a very nice true black which is often hard to find. It is also a heavy weight fabric. It’s a bit tough to sew through, so use a thicker needle and take your time sewing.

This piece of canvas fabric is a nice burnt orange color. It feels medium weight but, is firm or stiff enough, to add some structure or shape to projects. The back of the fabric has an almost clear, lightweight, waterproof coating that seems to keep water from soaking through. I did wash the fabric with regular detergent in cold water and hung it to dry. It was mostly dry after coming out of the washer and, a little frumpled looking but, not wrinkled. I think it would be best to just wipe or spot clean to maintain the original crisp appearance of the fabric, if that is desired. I plan to use this fabric making toiletry bags or a tote bag that, will probably get washed so, the frumpled look just makes it look more rustic. I think it would also work very well on an outdoor seat cushion or, as cushion cover for a dog bed.

There is no way this fabric is waterproof, I can actually see through the fabric holes! Further, it says "by the yard", which actually means if you order 2 yards you will get 2 separate pieces of fabric, not one piece that's 2 yards long! So really these are just 58" x 1 yard pieces, individually cut. So the description is really misleading.

I would say the fabric is very stiff and not terribly soft. It is definitely waterproof, and that quality is what I needed in a screened in sun room. Screened for bugs, not not for weather. So far, the pillow case I made out of the fabric has held up well given all of the heavy rains coming in at an angle, soaking the screened porch and all it's contents. The color was spot on! It matched perfectly with a polyester curtain I used for making a cover for a bench. I was even able to use some of the left over pieces of the fabric on the edges of the bench cover to tie everything together. If you quilt, you'll have a rotary cutter, I would not cut through more than two layers as the fabric is thick and a little slick when it rubs against itself. I do not think I will order more as the fabric was not easy for me to work with. I did use cotton quilt thread to stitch the pillows together and I found that it was better to use that than the poly threads. I did not wax my cotton thread, and I used a general purpose needle in my machine. Bottom line: The color is spot on (burnt-orange), definitely waterproof, not ideal for outdoor furniture you *actually* use as the fabric is a bit rough. This is a heavy weight fabric best suited for making waterproof bags, and covers for outside furniture and things you want to protect.

This type of polyester waterproof canvas is a favorite of mine for bag making. I frequently use it for lining and occasionally for exterior fabric as well. This compares favorably to Ottertex WPC, with a similar fabric weight and durability. The coating on the back is somewhat thinner than Ottertex, but still stiff enough to provide nice stability without needing additional interfacing. The color is bright, brilliant and consistent. It's an excellent value at this price point. I had no trouble sewing it with my industrial sewing machine. It handled curves well with judicious clipping.

I ordered the navy blue, waterproof canvas fabric, and I'm very impressed with its quality. The cut I received measures 61 inches wide from selvage to selvage with 60 inches of useable fabric between selvages. The length was slightly uneven, going from 36 inches on one side to 35 inches on the opposite side. (Because there is an extra inch in width, I didn't take off a star for the length.) The color is a deep, rich blue - closer to a marine blue in my opinion, and it's beautiful! There is no stretch in any direction. The canvas is a heavyweight fabric and is waterproof - it'll make excellent seat covers for patio furniture that I plan to make. I would love to buy this fabric by the bolt because I can see using it for multiple upcoming projects I have scheduled!
