I bought these shoes to replace my favorite yard shoes. I needed something that will protect my feet that is easy to slip in and off and I don’t mind getting muddy. I would have preferred a different color but this was the best option available in my size. I normally wear barefoot shoes from xero shoes, Merrill, and vivo . I’m familiar with the concept of zero drop and I like shoes that let my feet be feet. Pros: these shoes are really cute! I love the shape and their wide toes without looking like water shoes or duck feet. They slip in easily and have an ankle tab so I’ll be able to pull them in and off without touching whatever I got into out in the garden. They’re comfortable and the insoles don’t feel like I’m walking in sand or rocks (some shoes I’ve tried had a textured insole that was just not okay). The cons: really there’s just one. As I said, I like my feet to just be allowed to be feet. These shoes are designed in such a way that they put pressure on my arches. People that want some support will appreciate this. I’m not a fan. I also feel like the shape of the sole and the insole create something that feels less like a zero drop sole. Anyway, only because I love my barefoot shoes, I’m giving it a four out of five. Additional note: I ordered my usual size (8 us women) in a wide fit to give myself wiggle room. It’s a great fit!

I took the gamble and got a great minimalist shoe but I like the barefoot feel more. The sole is pretty thick and more built up in the heel than I’d like so I will not be using them for running. I may use them for the gym or just as a casual kick around shoe. Either way they look great and feel great, the toe box is nice and wide, just not as barefoot as I’d like. Sadly it seems the 80-100 dollar price point is the only shoe that’ll get that close but this is a great value! Get some aftermarket laces if you plan on having these more tight than loose, the ones they come with run a little long and leave a pretty goofy tail that you have to wrap up weirdly.
