I was surprised how much support they have. Usually, these kinds of shoes are very bendy and flopping and no side to side support. These actually had good support around the laces, and the rubber on the bottom is decently firm. I like them. Not sure on the size though. I usually wear a 10.5 in any regular shoes, I bought these in 10 thinking the wide toe would make them feel too big in 10.5. Turned out my guess what correct. The 10 felt perfect. I'm not saying they run big, but that wide toe aspect affects the overall size it seems. Gonna buy a couple more pairs and see if they all fit the same and feel the same. ... show more

My feet certainly feel comfortable in these shoes. I almost feel that they could double as swimming fins the toe box is so wide. I also feel like I'm wearing clown shoes as they flap down when I walk in them. As I won't be wearing them for walking but for swimming at the lake, they should work out well. I like that they appear like a gym shoe rather than a swim shoe. How I rate: In my past review history I usually submitted only five or a one star reviews. I let my passions rule my ratings and left the 2-4 ratings for the masses. These shoes are definitely wide! Plenty of room in the toe box. I usually wear extra-wide or EE width in women's shoes, and these fit me across the toes with room to spare. The overall sizing is on the larger side. I normally wear 8.5, which is what I ordered, and they are definitely loose. If you're between sizes or prefer a snugger fit, consider sizing down. I'm ordering another pair one size smaller because these may be a little too loose to be stable for scrambling across rocks or on steeply-graded riverbanks or boat ramps. The sole is very thin but that's normal for water shoes, and the body of the shoe is surprisingly well-padded. I haven't worn them in the water yet (still too early to kayak here) but they seem very comfortable for water shoes and I'm looking forward to trying them out. ... show more

These shoes fit as you'd expect as long as you order your size and then expect them to feel loose in the toe. They're supposed to be that way- don't worry. I'm not totally used to it yet, but it's an enjoyable albeit a bit raw experience to walk around a warehouse or on the sidewalk without as much padding or support as I'm used to. The construction of these shoes is decent. Nothing overly wrong with them, but the materials aren't going to win any luxury awards. I have an earlier year version of the WateLves Wide Water Shoes and I liked those, but there was something I always found funny about them. Like they were mimicking real shoes, but weren't quite there. I think it was partly the styling and partly the quality. I didn't really mind this since they were water shoes, but that was my reference point for evaluating these new shoes. This new version really caught my eye, partly because the styling looked a little cleaner, and I figured why not give it a shot since I did like the other ones. When they arrived, I was pretty excited. They look similar to the old version, but a bit more refined, like the quality has gone up a bit and some important changes have been made to the shoe design. The biggest difference I noticed right away is that there is some significant improvement on the bottom of the shoe. It has a nicer outsole, with some actual shape and stiffness to it instead of a nearly flat, soft bottom like the previous version. Inside, you can feel actual arch underfoot, which is a significant improvement in shape and comfort. They actually feel and look more like real shoes. While they are still water shoes, these are really usable as a true hybrid shoe, and at this price that makes them a really impressive value. I wear a M10.5-M11 and selected the corresponding M11 (wide) size in these. They fit perfectly. The most important thing to mention on the fit with these is that they have a nice wide toe box and they fit the curve and shape of the foot well. There are far too many shoes that have narrow toe boxes and unnatural shapes, but these are done very well. On top of that, they don't look strange, so they achieve the right balance between ergonomic without sacrificing style. Overall, I really do love these. I plan to get quite a bit of use out of these this summer, especially while paddleboarding where I often have foot pain from standing on the flat surface for long periods of time. These should give me a bit more support and cushion to make it easier and more enjoyable, while being totally fine if they get wet in the process. If you're looking for a comfortable hybrid water shoe, especially with a wide toe box, this is a great choice and a great value! ... show more
