We are concerned about all the plastic that goes to the landfill and does not degrade. So we switched from plastic garbage bag liners to paper shopping bags. This is a good size for grocery bags that you get at local grocery stores. So far it is working well.

I purchased this as a recycling receptacle for home use and I'm happy with the quality. It's the perfect size for a household of two and has ample space to hold recyclables for a few days without filling up too quickly. It's still pretty compact for how much it holds so it isn't intrusive in a small kitchen. Our previous bin was a flimsy plastic thing that slid around or fell over if I breathed near it but this one is extremely sturdy. It has a nice weight to it as it's made of a very good quality, thick plastic material so it always stays firmly in place. The material is completely suitable for its use and it's easy to clean. It seems super durable and I feel like it's going to last forever. My only small complaint is that it already had scratches and scuffs on it when I received it, quite noticeably in some places. It's still structurally sound and completely functional but it's always a little disappointing to receive a brand new item that already has wear. The lettering and recycling symbol on the front was also not printed on well and looks pretty shabby but all of these things are just surface imperfections and there was no major damage. It still seems built to last and does its job admirably so I'm not overly concerned about the aesthetic issues. ... show more

I needed a glass recycle bin for my baby food jars. To put the word 'glass' on it, I guess others were willing to charge me triple, but this one did not. It's sturdy, well built, and just like the blue one I have for regular recycling and the best part is, it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb! I love this thing. I've stacked it until the glass nearly overflows and it swells a little, almost like it's going to burst, but it doesn't.
