We purchased two sets of these (6 total shelves) for my daughter's room to store books. They're not technically "floating" shelves, as you can obviously see the mounting hardware...the black metal brackets. The instructions say you can hang them with the brackets either on top or on the bottom. We went with the brackets on top, in order to provide built-in bookends for the books. The shelves were the perfect depth for most books. It comes with drywall sinks and screws for mounting to drywall, however we purchased slightly larger more durable drywall sinks that are rated for a higher weight, since we were going to be filling them with books, which are heavy. ... show more

I bought these in the 24” and 36”. I honestly expected these to be cheap melamine for the price so I was pleasantly surprised that the shelves are actually wood. They are easy to install and look great! The wood is pretty lightweight so I wouldn’t put anything super heavy on them. The brackets are well made and have a nice matte black finish. It was a nice and inexpensive addition to my office and gives me a little extra space to get some clutter off my desk. ... show more
