this plate cover is of pretty good quality construct and is larger than the original plate, if you have larger areas to cover. this plate is also brighter white than the original. and is also smoother in texture than the original. in terms of thickness, both plates are about the same and appear to be the same sturdiness. out of the box, it does appear that the original Color matches slightly better. overall, this is a solid choice of you need a larger plate.

The Google Nest did not cover the imperfections left by the old rectangular thermostat, and this backplate has covered them fully with an attractive backdrop to our cloud-colored nest thermostat. What is not advertised and is actually the biggest benefit is that the backplate keeps the wall paint from getting finger marks, the plate cleans easily and remains new looking even after the thermostat area is touched by many hands over and over. Also not mentioned is that you can install it with the long axis vertical which allows the covering to align better with the markings from an old style rectangle thermostat.

I got a GREAT deal on a Nest thermostat subsidized by my local power company. It arrived last week. I try to install it, remove the old thermostat and then I saw the mess the contractor made when my furnace was installed. He obviously didn't care. I could patch the drywall and paint it, or just cover it with this plate because I'm not feeling very energetic. This is easy and looks nice.

Just as it says it is: wall plate for the Nest Thermostat. Install was easy, Nest base mounts perfectly on it and it covers up the bad paint job underneath the Nest upgrade now!

I ordered my husband the Google Nest thermostat for Christmas but was worried about how it would look considering the old thermostat was rectangular and the new one is circular. This wall plate will help to cover the ugly spots in the wall from our old one without having to repaint the area. Very simple design, easy to install, and looks great. Definitely recommended!
