  • Fit my 2005 Scion xA perfect
Connected perfectly between the muffler and catalytic converter on my 2005 Scion xA.

  • OEM fit
Installed in about 2 hours. I cut the old exhaust system about 6" after the catalytic converter. This pipe inlet was a bit dented at the engine side but vice grips made quick work and rounding it out. It fit well over the OEM pipe. I also installed Walker 54658 muffler with appropriate clamp and gasket. The exhaust C-clamp needed was 1 ³/⁴ inch. Overall I'm happy with saving $500 over the exhaust shop quote of $700. ... show more

  • Not stainless, but church-mouse quiet
I used this to replace the straight-pipe the previous owner of my car installed to make an inexpensive import sound like an inexpensive imported angry insect. The bends are perfect and it is indeed quiet. At 75mph, all I can hear is road and wind noise. Under acceleration, all that comes into the cabin is a faint growl that is attributed to the cold air intake that is also installed. I like that noise, however, as it is reminiscent of Subaru's boxer motors. Now for the bad: It's NOT stainless, so count on replacing it every few years or moving out West. I'm not sure if this will work, but I coated mine with a few layers of inexpensive BBQ paint in order to protect it from the environment. A few years will let me know if this tactic succeeds, but for $40 you're getting a resonator that seems quieter than the stock piece and doesn't seem to restrict flow too much. The mounts for hanging on the rubber mounts don't have caps welded on, so make sure everything is good to go when you're doing your 5k services. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of. The inlet is sized awkwardly if you're installing it behind the OEM cat. Be prepared to cut it down (or get perilously close to the second O2 sensor if you decide to butcher the stock pipe, which I recommend against: it's way thicker) in order to get it to fit, then break out your welder (or have fun finding the right clamp adapter). This is made to mate with the Walker aftermarket cat assembly, not the OEM one (which includes the resonator for the reasonable sum of $700), so it's not a surprise it doesn't fit perfectly. Also, the outlet is sized to fit with the Walker muffler, which I also installed. It fits perfectly, just make sure you order the gasket. • Lots of Value for 32 Bucks
I just inserted this into my 2006 Scion XA's exhaust system and here was my experience. I'm rating three stars because there were some significant challenges for me as an exhaust system newbie and I expected this to fit my Scion with a little less hassle. Maybe my expectations were unrealistic. Here is how the assembly fit my Scion. (a) The overall shape of this was perfect. I am referring to the twists and turns it makes as well as the overall length. (b) The diameter of the pipe forward of the resonator was NOT the same dia as the stock pipe. (c) The resonator has a smaller dia than the stock resonator (see photo.) (d) The forks that are used to suspend this section of pipe from rubber mounts do not have the mushroomed ends that the stock forks have. As a result, they ride loosely in the rubber mounts rather than snapping into place. (e) I was unable to make the end that goes into the muffler mate with my muffler. The mating part of my muffler was very rusted and I could not tell whether it was supposed to be male or female, so I can't comment on gender appropriateness with an OEM muffler. This was the first exhaust work I ever did and I could tell my installation was wrong as soon as I started up the car. A 15 minute test drive resulted in lots of exhaust in my cabin and I was sick for about two hours after a 15 minute drive. I mention this as a warning to other newbies that exhaust work is serious business. I will recount what I did and how I rectified my amateurish, dangerous installation with the help of a local garage. I don't weld, so I had to get creative with how I connected the input and output ends of this pipe. To adapt the front end to the existing pipe I wrapped metal from a can around the pipes and secured it with a couple of hose clamps. To attach to the muffler, I butted flange-to-flange using the old clamp and a gasket. Like I said in the last paragraph, this was not the way to do things. Fortunately, a local garage replaced my connections with some sleeves, welded everything in, and I was safe and sound. Garage fees were $73.27. No one got hurt as a result of my ignorance and I learned a lot about exhaust work. Compared to prices I have paid to have garages do all the work for me, I think this was a very economical overall solution and I plan on doing as much exhaust work as I can from here on out with my local garage lined up for welding everything in. ... show more

  • Perfect fit.
Replaced everything from the cat back on a 06 scion Tc. The system fit perfectly. Just make sure that you use the special muffler clamp that is needed for the joint between the resonator pipe, and the rear muffler.

  • Not even close
This was not even close to the factory setup. You better have a good welder and a metal saw because it does not fit out of the box.....and speaking of the box, worst packaging ever

  • Great Value, simple install
Simple install (I ended up paying a mechanic $80 to install this and the muffler. Simple one hour, not modifications. It is quiet now, and the vehicle has a lot more pickup with full back pressure! Great value if you have compared to the egregiously priced Toyota part!
