Nothing your kids can climb on obviously, maybe not worth the price, but great looking and highly functional. Does what I needed, albeit with 2 in the stud and 2 drywall set screws with plastic drywall inserts. The hole size for the plug is like 1/4” out the anchor screws are thin. Probably too thin for stud mounting also, so room for improvement there. When mounted you can easily flex the particle board shelves. I wasn't expecting much from this shelf unit for such a low price. However my requirements are low. 2 shelves I can mount to the wall large enough to hold a game console, and potentially a DVR in the future. This unit has so far met those requirements, although the shelves could be deeper, as my PS4 hangs off the edge about 2.5 inches. Not crazy about that, but oh well. So mounting this unit was pretty easy. Place the bracket to the wall, use a level to make sure it's level. Drill holes in the appropriate places. Re-check levelness, Hammer in anchors. Replace the bracket on the wall. Run screws in. I did opt for some heavy duty 45 pound anchors ($2.50 at Home Depot), because the included anchors looked very cheap. 45 pound anchors may be overkill, but it certainly doesn't hurt anything. Once I had the back bracket in place, I used the level again to make sure the glass shelves were perfectly level. If you can mount a TV to your wall, this will be an easy project. The hardest thing about this job, was getting the cable hider system to work for you, rather than against you. It's not a great system, and it fought me the whole time, but ultimately looks fine, and does what it's supposed to. As far as the negative reviews go, I don't really understand them. If you mount it correctly (especially if you use heavy duty anchors like I did), you should never have to worry about it coming off the wall. As far as the glass shattering...Glass does that. It's a risk you will have to live with. I wouldn't recommend mounting this shelf low to the ground if you have toddlers or rambunctious dogs. But that should be pretty obvious. Glass like this will shatter if hit inappropriately. So I'm happy with the purchase, and would recommend to a friend. My only real complaint is that I wish the shelves were a bit deeper. But that is on me, and does not reflect a negative toward the product. ... show more

Heads up!!! the screws they sent to be use to anchor the bracket to the studs are complete trash and will strip. I've worked as a carpenter and am no stranger to predrilling and screwing into lumber. 1st the instructions wanted me to drill a 1/8 hole 1.2 inches into the stud. I check the screw and a 1/8 drill bit was perfect, however the screw was 2 in and length, thus, I went ahead and predrilled to 2in in depth. I started driving my first screw, using sufficient pressure and torque control, however the soft metal of the screw head started to strip as I got about 1.25in deep. I knew it wasn't going to work, as I carefully reversed back out the head became completely stripped and thus I had to finish extraction with pliers. I tested a 2nd screw (double check my philip head on my drill and same problem, the screw head is so soft it strips under torque. And forget trying to use a hand screw driver to drive these into a stud 2in in. I was now left with 1/8 holes in my wall. The screws I used for wood projects are #8 and thus would not properly catch in the holes I made. I had to go to Home Depot to pickup some #9 Screws in 2.5in length with star (T-25) heads. They drove in like butter. And torqued down well securing the wall bracket in place. It's a shame the vendor/manufacture missed out on a 5 star rating to save literal pennies on screws. I doubt they've always included such inferior screws with this product, but now they do to save 16 cents per unit sold. I Hope they start including better screws. I'm not saying, don't buy this, What I am saying is, expect to supply your own screws. ... show more

I really do understand the -ve comments for this product. The size is deceiving and it may look wobbly. I put is on sheet rock and not the studs. So let's see how far this goes. Please make sure of the size you want and don't get carried away by the images. I did not have a missing part and the mounts and screws were of good quality. My needs were simple though and I totally loved it for my needs. I needed to find a wall stand for my 2 laptops which then was going thru a KVM switch to my monitor. Really light-weight requirement. My guess is I am going to be touching anything on the stand maybe twice a week, therefore not too much of aggressive handling. Now the installation was easy and straight-forward. If you've ever put a screw in the wall then you could put this on. Even if your base support was not perfectly straight (and mine wasn't) there is a margin of error that the shelf can handle. You can sway the shelf itself by a couple of degrees to make it straight even if the wall mount/support itself was of by a couple of degrees. The shelf itself has a glass-like very impressive appearance. Putting the shelf on was easier. And to be able to hide the wires behind that soft metal mesh within the support was icing on the cake. You cannot make all the wires hide, but you can definitely make it look a little bit organized. The whole thing took about 4 screws to the wall, 6 screws to mount the shelf holder to the support and 3 more screws to attach the shelf to the shelf holder. I was done in about 30 mins.
